Ice cubes are hollow.

Ice cube maker is making ice cubes that are hollow most of the time. They are cute but not what one would want.

Just recently. The fridge was moved for a new flooring. When put back, the cubes went hollow. Like I said, they are cute but not overly functional.

Sounds good to me--I will give it a try. Thanks

Some fridges are designed to make hollow cubes where they always hollow or just recently

  • Anonymous Apr 17, 2009

you should first check and make sure the water supply is not impeded if its a hose it could be pinched from when it was reinstalled which might restrict the flow of water

Whats happening is the ice isnt freezing all the way. Try cleaning your condensor's under the frig.In Hotter weather when condensor's get filled with dust it causes the frig to cycle to ofeten. In turn your cubes aren't freezing all the way.

Frigidaire side by side with ice maker .. ice maker jams and quits making ice

Hi,
Hollow ice cubes are a result of lack of water to ice maker. This can be caused by lack of water pressure (clogged filter, bad water valve, obstructed fill tube, etc..) you will need to find the cause to correct this hollow ice cube issue. The ice maker should take on 5.5 oz of water when it cycles (2/3 cup). Mot of the time its a water supply issue and the line could be kinked behind the unit as it was rolled back into place.

Good Luck

Hollow ice cubes. Ocassional clunk sound and

Hollow cubes indicate the water inlet valve is defective ( not letting enough water into the ice maker ) . Replace the valve behind the refrig ( the piece the wall water lne connects to on the refrig ) . Do not try adjusting the water on the ice maker itself , even if someone else suggests it , as this adjustment is factory preset .

Ice maker is making hollow ice cubes, some only half frozen

Most ice makers have an adjustment screw to control the cube size. Its usually hidden behind a plastic panel on the front of the ice maker. A quarter turn either way and some trial and error testing should get you pointed in the right direction to your ideal ice cube.

Ice maker quit making ice

your refrig has a built in bypass in the filter housing so yes it will work with out a filter in place. if you have not replaced your filter in the last 6 months that is likely the problem. Hollow cubes are usually a sign of not enough water getting into the icemaker then it cycles too fast and harvests hollow cubes.

when the hollow cubes fall into your bucket they bust and put water in with your cubes freezing them together. so by solving your water supply problem you'll solve most of your icemaking issues..
