Question about Motorola Mobility MOTOKRZR K1 Cellular Phone
When I assign a ringtone to a contact that ringtone also plays when they send me a text message. Surely there is a way around this. As how do you differentiate between text then and phone call. Any other motorolas I had used do it, but can't seem to get it working on this. Love the phone apart from that.
That's just the way it's designed. all all contacts from that number, voice or sms get the same alert.

You should be able to change the ring tone and text message alert when you are editing the person's contact info. If there is not option for that, then you may have your contacts being saved to your sim card. Change it to your phone, when you do that a lot more options appear when adding/editing contacts. Hope this helps!

No didn't work.
The information for text messages is not in the options when editing the persons contact info. When I edit the contact info, there is a long list of changes that can be made but nothing on the messages. I have the contacts changed to my phone too.
