The Model number is AV-G21P. I use a universal remote control but it doesn't have a TV/CATV switch. I can access the menu from the universal remote but it only shows: set clock, on/off timer, channel guard, auto program, manual program and language. My TV has no front panel menu button. Thanks! Hi!

TUNING
This DVD+VCR is equipped with a frequency synthe-
sized tuner capable of receiving up to 181 channels.
These include VHF channels 2-13, UHF channels
14-69 and CATV channels 1-125.
Auto Channel Programming
1. Choose the SOURCE SELECT option, then use
b / B to select TUNER.
Use b / B to switch among TUNER, LINE1, and LINE2.
2. Choose the AUTO CHANNEL SET option, then
use b / B to find channels.
• The tuner will automatically cycle through all available
channels (TV/CATV) in the area and place them in
the tuner's memory.
•After the AUTO CHANNEL SET is complete, the
TUNING menu will hide and return to the TV screen
automatically.
3. Make sure the TUNING BAND is set appropriately
(TV or CATV).
• TV : If you are using a standard antenna to receive
channels.
•CATV : If you are using basic cable to receive
channels.
Yes go to menu with the buttons on your TV and go to CATV sometime u can press your channel button until your channels run out and if u keep pressing the channel button it will go into game mode or in other words switch to the RCA jacks in front of your TV
Try bringing up the menu by holding both volume buttons down at the same time (or use menu button on remote if you have it). Go into CH SET using the channel and volume buttons on the front of set (or use the SET + and - and the ENTER buttons on remote). Go to the TV CATV line and move the arrow to CATV. Let menu time out. This will put tv into cable mode. Hope this helps.
You probably have to find your original remote to the set and go through setup in your menu. On most sets, there will be a menu item which will allow you to switch from Cable mode to Air mode. If you have no Cable connected, then you must set tuner in Air mode.
If you are using an external device to run on channel three, then try this:
Make sure device (rather it's a vcr or game console), is hooked up to your Antenna Input connector. Also, some of these devices will have a small hidden switch on back that says 3 and 4. Move the switch to 3 position. Turn on device. Go into TV menu and do a Channel scan. This should auto program any device hooked up to the TV antenna input jack to channel three.
Keep in mind that you may not receive anything by Feburary of this year without an HD converter box to tune in channels with and outdoor antenna.
According to the manual, follow the steps below to program channels on your Quasar VV8220 TV:
1) Hold the CHANNEL MEMORY Button on your remote in and press the 1 key
(a box will come up where you can shift between TV & CATV --
you will want to be on CATV (for cable channels).
2) Press the 4 key which will change from TV to CATV -- make sure it is
on CATV or if it is already on CATV, press the 5 key.
3) Press the 4 key (the auto set guide will engage and go through the channels).
I guess you are using the cable TV feed looped through the VCR to the TV set.
Make sure you did not confuse the in and out loop of the VCR.
In the VCR menu, or on the remote there is usually a button called TV/VCR (Video). Make sure it is in the TV mode to watch the cable. In the VCR (Video) mode, the TV must be on the VCR's designated channel to watch the VCR, and the VCR tuner is used to watch the cable channels.
it sounds like the tv is already in cable mode, and that it is a older tv. some older tv's will only tune in so many channels. yours going up only to channel 69. if you have the remote for this tv, try punching in channel 73. if it doesn't tune in, then the tv will not recieve channel 73.
good luck
wg
In the menu theres a channel set up mode. You want to switch from antenna to cable mode, then do an auto search. Then all your cable channels will come in. Your going to need the original remote to go into the correct menu. good Luck
