Question about Uniden Cordless Phone

Cordless GE phone issue. 25825GE3-A

This type of phone base will accomodate 4 handsets. Two of the handsets have gone into NEED REGISTRATION mode. I have tried several times to reregister but no luck. Disconnected battery and reconnected but still will not register.

    When trying to register phones that have deregistered, the phone WILL NOT allow you to go to the menu, only to the registration mode. When you try one of the phones that IS registered you can go to the menu and basically go to any mode you can find. This can not be done to the two phones that have deregistered. When I access the GE information and my original instructions they simply say to go through the task of deregistering the phone. YOU CAN NOT DO THIS as the phone simply will allow ONLY the registration mode and you can not anything else with the phone.

1. press the "talk" button FIRST
2. then press "program" button and follow instructions on screen

only one phone said "needs registration" but had to register all 4 phones but this worked for me

I faced a similar problem.try doing this
1) go to handset menu & somewhere u wil find registration
2)it wil ask for pin , try 5555 or 0000
3)it wil display waiting for reg or searching......
4) press the base station button for some 5 seconds until it beeps continuosly & stops....
5) as beep stops press 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 in handset ( no. of hanset handled by base)...try all possibilities ( sometimes takes automatically if u dont press any number)
6) thats it.......

YOU might need to deregister the hand set first by holding down the red end (hang up key) and keep it down while holding the # key. If deregister wont work use base unavailable and yes, you are sure twice.

List the handset numbers of those working handsets
Using a WORKING handset follow these directions
Resetting Handsets
If you want to register the handset to a different base or
replace a handset with another one, you must first clear the
registration information from the base and the handset.
1. Press and hold [ ] and [#] for
at least 5 seconds, until the
SYSTEM RESET menu
appears.
2. Select the DEREGISTER HS
submenu. WHICH HANDSET?
appears in the display.
3. Move the cursor to select the handset ID to be de-registered
from the list, and then press the OK soft key. DEREGISTER HS
appears. CHOSE A NUMBER THAT IS NOT ONE OF YOUR WORKING HANDSETS
4. Move the cursor to select YES, and then press the OK soft key.
When ARE YOU SURE? appears, select YES. You will hear a
confirmation tone.
PUT THE HANDSET IN THE BASE CHARGER AND IT SHOULD REGISTER

A search of Uniden support only said to call 1-800-297-1023 with handset registration issues. The rep picked up quickly and walked me through the reset procedure. Here it is step-by-step:

1. Remove battery
2. Hold down the * and # buttons and reinsert battery. You should hear a long beep. If not retry. (This is a bit awkward but hold the handset upside down and it's workable)
3. Screen will be blank. Immediately press the right soft menu button.
4. Screen will report that EEPROM is clearing and then state EEPROM Clear Ok
5. Remove battery (yes again)
6. Reinsert battery (this time there's no need to hold down any buttons)
7. Handset will reboot with Welcome screen and then state that phone must be registered (this is the status a handset should be in from the factory)
8. Place handset on base and it will register as normal

Instructions if you need to register handsets to the base:
You can register additional handsets to have up to five handsets per base unit, with each handset's number (1 to 5) shown on its display.
1. Press and hold <PAGE> on the base station for more than five seconds to put the base station into registration mode. (Note: there is no feedback to know it is in reg mode.) It will stay in registration mode for about 1 minute. So complete following sequence within this time. (It helps if handset is kept very near to the base during this).
2. Press <MENU> and <UP/DOWN> on the handset to select REGISTRATION.
3. Press <OK> and you are requested to enter the 4-digit system PIN.
4. Enter the 4-digit system PIN.
5. Press <OK> to confirm, and the display will show SEARCHING. If the handset registration is successful, you will hear a confirmation tone and the <antenna icon> will stop flashing. This may take a short while. The handset will automatically be allocated the next available handset number. This handset number is shown in the handset display in standby mode. If thehandset registration is unsuccessful, the <antenna icon> will still flash and the display will return to ' REGISTER', so you will need to repeat registration process.

Only bass set going extra hand set not working


Hi,


This is because the extra handset might have not been registered with the base unit.The headset should be register to use the headset with that base unit.

To register the handset to base unit please follow the instruction:-

On registration the handset is allocated a handset number for use on the new base unit, the handset numbers are 1-5.

1. Press and hold

2.Press and hold both

3.Select the base unit you wish to register by pressing the corresponding number button 1-4.
4. When PIN is displayed, enter the units PIN number (0000 for this model).
5. If the registration is successful the handset will return to standby mode in a few seconds.

I have a Eurotel E1110 device but it is asking me to register the third phone again. I do not know the pin-number so what can I do?

Philips cd245 duo wont register and wont reset


Hi, I sort of solved this issue. What you cannot confuse here is that when you are doing "Registering" on your existing handset, the base has to be in the registration mode too. To get the base in the registration mode, you have to press <page> (or speaker with sound symbol on the base) more than 5 seconds, then the base is in the "Register Mode". You can then go through the procedure you describe and the handset will beep with Registration number on the screen. This is however a fix only if the Base is still functioning. In my case, sadly, the base was more likely dead (if I press any button on the base, i.e. answer phone etc., there is no response). Hence I went and bought a new cheap GAP compatible BINATONE 1800 Single at Comet (14.99). I then set up the base, put it in the registration mode. Then on the Phillips CD245 handset and gone through the above registration procedure... and Voila! It worked. Now I have a new base that came with 1 handset, then 3 of my CD245 handset are all registered with it. So far, the sound quality is good and I also managed to have kept all the telephone numbers registered with the handset. The BINATONE base came with 12 months manufacturer's guarantee so I am sorted with the base problem for at least a year, which is nice. I hope this is helpful. Best, Ken

Philips CD240 2nd phone wont connect - keeps saying searching


Hi, I solved this issue this morning. What you cannot confuse here is that handset and base. To do the registration successfully, the both must be in "Registering" mode. First, to get the base in the registration mode, you have to press <page> (a paging function for handset in case you cannot find where they are - usually button that says <page>or speaker with sound symbol on the base) more than 5 seconds, then the base is in the "Register Mode"(though you will hear no beep). You can then go through the procedure you describe on the handset and the handset should beep with assigned number no more than 10 seconds after it flashed "Waiting". The above, however, works only if the Base is still functioning. In my case, sadly, the base was more likely dead (if I press any button on the base, i.e. answer phone etc., there is no response). Hence I went and bought a new cheap GAP compatible BINATONE 1800 Single at Comet (14.99). I then set up the base, put it in the registration mode as per the BINATONE instruction. Then on the Phillips CD240 handset and gone through the above registration procedure... and Voila! It worked. Now I have a brand new base that came with 1 handset of its own, and 3 additional CD245 handsets which are all registered with this base. So far, the sound quality is good and they retained all the telephone numbers registered with the handset. Need help registering the GE additional cordless model 27911.


I had the same problem but I fixed it by:

1. Disconnect the battery on the handset.
2. Wait 1 minute and reconnect.
3. Register handset.

Phones (4) do not work


If you tried the registration process discribed in the book, it is possible that the base may have gotten zapped. Happened to me. Bought a new DCT 758 (cheap at Amazon.com) with only one extra handset and used two of the old handsets with it. It will only support the handset in the base and 3 others, so you can't use all of the old ones (save them for extras).
