Lost vacation photos...message is memory card failure

On the last day of vacation my pictures all disappeared & what was showing up on the LCD was pictures I had deleted about a year ago. It is an Olympus FE-180. Is there any way to retrieve the vacation photos? The memory card was not working in the self service kiosk...the machine would not recognize it.

The software suggested was easy to use, though the recovery did not get my lost photos. It recovered only 213 old photos which I had previously transferred from the camera, nothing recent.

You can try asoftech photo recovery software. You can see
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/
It tells the steps how to perform data recovery.

If above does not work, you may have to format the memory card (use quick format), and then use above mentioned software to scan again the memory card and recover your files.

As long as the xD card was not formatted it is possible to recover the images that were accidently erased, lost or corrupted. You can go to the following website link and download an image recovery software program that is free of charge.
http://www.z-a-recovery.com/
You want to download a program called Zero Assumption Recovery. It is a very simple program to use and many people have had much success in recovering lost images.

Data recovery is a booming industry, and many appropriate services and software can be found by searching regional phone and business directories or the Internet for terms such as "image recovery" or "data recovery".

Sir, E31 error suddently happend in my SONY Handycam, Model: DCR SR85, 60GB HDD, all my datas are losed, how I can recover the recorded data? when I am on vacation with my relatives in my native...

You can recover lost photos, videos from memory card or memory stick of your camcorder with this
1. Do not save any new photos and videos into the memory card or memory stick.
2. Connect the memory card or memory stick with computer. You should see it shown as a drive letter (like H:) in My Computer.
3. Download recovery software, recommended one is Tenorshare Data Recovery (simply because i was using it and it worked)
http://www.any-data-recovery.com/product/datarecoverystandard.htm
4. Install and open the program, select your memory drive, and click 'Start' button to start scanning process which will find your lost photos and videos.

Memory Card Question

Try photo recovery software to rescue the lost picture, here are some you may rely on. Photo Recovery Software (for Windows)
Mac Photo Recovery Software (for Mac OS X)

Be careful: Before your picture isrecovered, do not attempt to save more files to the memory card in case the original files(your picture) are overwritten.

You can connect camera's memory card to computer with a card reader (get one from ebay if you haven't already have one), then download this file recovery program which is outstanding among all file recovery software.

Downloading photos from my Canon A95

Sounds like the card has become corrupted. Take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for:

http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/recovering-those-accidentally-lost.html

You will need to use a flash card reader with this software. Also, highly recommend that you consider using a card reader to download your pictures in the future. You insert the camera's memory card into the reader, and then insert the reader into a USB port on your computer. The card then shows up as a hard drive so that you can simply copy/paste or drag your picture files onto your computer. Card readers are much more faster in downloading pics, do not require the use of your camera's batteries, and provide much more reliable downloading of the pictures (fewer errors). They're also VERY inexpensive these days. Here are some examples from Amazon for your CF card:

http://www.amazon.com/s/qid=1223745821/ref=sr_st?keywords=cf+compact+flash+card+reader&rs=172282&page=1&rh=n%3A172282%2Ck%3Acf+compact+flash+card+reader&sort=price

And finally, recommend formatting your card in your camera only AFTER you've recovered your photos (this will erase the card). This should fix the card for future use. Turn on the camera, select menu, then select the tools menu. Scroll down to the selection outlining your's cards memory capacity and select it. Then follow the formatting prompts.
