Downloading video from Camcorder to PC

Can you help me with how to download video from my GR-DVP7E camcorder to allow me to edit it in Windows Movie Maker? There are two sockets on the camera, one is a roughly oblong looking a bit loaf shaped, whilst the other is more like a cup shape. I assume I need a lead from one of these to a USB. Assuming this is correct, do I start normal playback and trust the video information can be captured on my PC? I have Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5 and Photo Explorer as well as anything available in Windows Vista. Thanks to anyone who can help!

When you connect your unit to your system it should prompted you as to what you want to do. This is where you select capture from and the computer will do the rest. You can use ulead only after you have connected the device to your computer. You can save the information in what ever format you choose, and upload it into window movie maker for editing. You have all the right software and Good Luck.

Hi, I have a JVC GR-D750AA digital video camera. I do not know how to download the things recorded to my PC. I have also bought the USB cable n tried but the camera USB port is not recogned by the PC. I do...

Turn the power switch on your camcorder to "Off." Connect the USB cable that came with the camcorder to the USB port on the camcorder. If you are using the DV cable, connect one end of the cable to the computer first. Put the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your computer. If you are using the DV cable, connect it to the camcorder. Power on your camcorder. Wait while your computer recognizes the attached JVC GR-D270U camcorder. Typically you will get a pop-up on your screen asking how you want to proceed once the camcorder has been recognized. Open your video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere, Roxie, iMovie or Windows Movie Maker. Import, or capture, the video from the camcorder to your computer using the video editing software. For example, in iMovie you click on "File," then "Import from Camera" to download the movie from your camcorder to the computer.

INEED TO DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE TO CONNECT CAMCORDER TO MY PC TO CONVERT VEDIO TAPE RECORDED

To transfer video from this camcorder to a PC, you need a 1394 cable (also called a "Firewire" cable, and your PC must have a 1394/Firewire connector as well. You can use Movie Maker (which comes with Windows) as the capture software, or you can download Scenalyzer (shareware), Studio (from Pinnacle), or Vegas Movie Studio to do the capture.

What software do i need to download movies off my camera on to my pc?

You can load many application to do what you want to do such as Avid or Premier. And there are loads more out there.
The cheapest is windows movie maker that comes free with windows XP professional and it's very easy to use.
Just connect your camera via firewire to your PC and providing the camera driver is on your PC it will see it and allow you to import your clips into movie maker and edit them.

I can't download video from videocam to pc.

You should be able to connect your camcorder to IEEE1394 socket on a computer, by means of a firewire cable, and capture the video with Windows Movie Maker or other software. Windows Movie Maker is part of WindowsXP and is already instaleed on PCs.

Transfer movie from mini tape to computer - JVC.....well, hello i found that people have the same problem i do i;ve got this JVC digital camera GR-D770U...and unfirtunately i don't have a software disc...

You can download user manual in PDF format from this link:
http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/JVC/GR-D770U-_E
but that's not a point. The point is that you can use any video editing software (with no driver), that accepts capture mode starting from standard Windows Movie Maker for beginners to CyberLink PowerDirector, Ulead DVD MovieFactory or similar. This can be made by plugging your camcorder to PC via USB or FireWire (iLink, IEEE1394). Of course you can record to Digital Video Unit Equipment (DVD recorder) if you have one. Good luck!

Jvc GR-D290

Hi, Since videos are taped in DV format, you need a firewire card (IEEE-1394) and cable. These are cheap. May be your PC already has a firewire card. Just check. Windows XP recognises automatically the camcorder. Moreover, its integrated video capture/editing module, Windows Movie Maker, is very userfriendly. USB connection is only good for downloading still images (photos) to your PC. For more information, go to http://www.videohelp.com/. good luck
