Stacked Matag washer & Dryer (Dryer on top)

1)Dryer works fine. 2)Washer will spin dry if I position timer to that spot. When I open spin stops like normal. Switch must be working ? 3)Timer sounds like it is moving. 4)Water will not come in I don't hear a click sound like normal. (like no electric) 5)Washer will not agitate even when I move timer to that spot. Any suggestions ??????

I did everything you suggested I found all hoses were clean. I checked valve and connected to 120 and it worked. I checked wires leading to valve and they were getting some electric but not what it should be. After tracing problem I found a 1 amp overload protective fuse that was bad. I replaced and ALL IS WORKING NOW. I would suggest people check fuse first when no water supply into washer. Easy fix and easy to get to. Thanks for help !

Opening door while spining should stop the machine. Since no water comes in, the agitate stage will not work even when the timer will be on this spot. Check first the filters on the inlet water line (both sides). Then, if problem still exist - check that the inlet water valve works(it is an electromagnet valve, located at the pipe's entrance to the machine)). If it doesn't work, test that it get power. In case it get power and doesn't work - You can easily open the valve and clean it (from scale or other dirt). Be aware you should disconnect the power cable from machine before doing it !!!! Check as well for valve's coil resistance. In case you have no resistance measurement - you should replace it for a new one. Good luck !

Maytag stacked unit LSE7806ACE. dryer is fine , the washer will not fill or run, if I manually turn the timer to drain the tub spins and the lid switch works fine. But the unit won't do anything f

You have a timer problem, the contacts are welded in spin mode.
This is almost always caused by advancing the timer by hand when the dial is pulled out in the "ON" position, causing arcing of the contacts.

I just replaced the thermal fuse and the dryer works fine but I noticed the timer switch hums quietly when it's in the 'off' position. Is this normal? We never noticed this before. When I was diagnosing...

greetings,

the push to turn switch usually just has two wires..if yours does then there should be no problem with bypassing it. check to see if the timer stops humming when you more the knob more into off...or let it advance by itself..Does the dryer turn itself into another cycle? or does it stay in off..? If it stays in off, but hums,,its not normal...if it advances by itself out of off its not normal and would need a new timer...this is sight unseen of coarse....

Dryer stops in the middle of cycle. It is not the door switch

There's not much here to work with. Is your dryer gas or electric? Do any of your clothes get dry? When you check inside, does if feel like it was warm when it turned off? How long does it run? My first guess would be the cycle timer. But you need to note if the drum was actually spinning and if the heat came on. If so, and everything was normal before it failed I'd go with the timer. If not ,there is another issue like a a safety switch for gas dryers which will not open the gas valve when the glow bar doesn't come up to temperature. Lastly, note where the dial points when it fails and most modern dryers have other cycle dials. Try one of those and see if it stops there too. You might just have a dead spot on the time because that is what you always use.

IT SOUNDS LIKE THE TIMER IS BAD. IF THE TIMER MAKES NOISE IN ANY POSITION AND GRINDS THE LITTLE TIMER MOTOR OR THE TEETH ON THE MAIN GEAR IS SLIPPING
