Vertical streaks My Lexmark C500N prints black and white without a problem. When I print colour, the page has vertical streaks, almost like strands, all the way down the entire page... HELP!

I own a C500 and the same thing happens. Black and white OK. Any printing done in colour has vertical streaks all the way down the page. Printed out a page with a blue, yellow and magenta blocks. Yellow was fine the other 2 streaked. Maybe there is some sort of build-up of gunk somewhere?

The toner forms small lumps and get stuck on the doctor blade of the cartridge. Where there are the lumps it blocks the toner from getting on the roller. Removing the doctor blade and cleaning it with a soft cloth and alcohol can solve your problem.

This sounds like a damaged/faulty cartrigde. run three pages off with blocks of colour one page in yellow, one in blue and one in as close to magenta as you can get. depending which page you get streaks on this should tell you which cartridge is faulty.

Hope this helps

Black marks on pages when i print

Do the streaks get fainter as you print more pages?

It sounds to me like have toner on your rollers/fuser.

Print out 10 prints from the printer and see if it improves.

If you remove the fuser wiper cover from the top of the printer and look down you will see part of the fuser roller (DON'T TOUCH VERY HOT) and check if there is toner on it.

When we attempt to print it leaves black streak marks. At first it printed all black and when we went to setup under maintainence we chose alignment and clean cartridges. This worked however we still see...

If an inkjet printer gives white streaks where it should be black, it means the ink is very low, or there is dirt under the nozzles preventing it from printing properly, or, in the case of non original cartridges, ink might be leaking which prevents the bubbles of ink to squirt onto the page.

If the streaks are black where it should be white, is sounds like some dust or fluff below the cartridge leaves ink smears on the page.

C500n color problem

Try using another magenta/yellow cartridge.

Draw 4 rectangles colouring them 100% C, M, Y, and K and print.
Check the print and see which colour print is not appropriate

It sounds as though a cartridge is faulty. To determine which one, the easiest way is to run a page of text/block of colour through in yellow then cyan then magenta. which ever page comes out with the streaks on it will tell you which cartyridge to ditch and replace. Hope this helps Cops [email protected]

Horizontal line on prints

Put plain paper in the printer and try to clean the nozzles.

-Start->All Programs->Lexmark 5400 Series->Lexmark Solution Center->Maintenance->Clean to fix horizontal streaks.

Good luck!

Minolta 2300DL Printer - black streaks

Hey Chuck, Any chance you can post a scan of one of the faulty pages ? This will make it easier to assess the fault. Print off about 10 pages of a page that is affected by the lines. Look at each page and see if you can detect a recurring pattern over any of the pages. If there is a pattern, chances are it is probably the PCU that is marked.

Without actually seeing a print sample or the machine, my bet would be on the black print cartridge. Even though it reads a an acceptable level of toner, the cartridge itself sounds like it has developed a proble. 1. It's the most obvious 2. It't the cheapest place to start. If it does not correct the problem, you can still use it later. 3. It's the problem in about 80% of these types of cases. 4. I know it should be fine, but if things didn't go wrong, I wouldn't have a job! Let me know. If not we'll investigate further. Ed
