KV-32XBR250 Has about twenty Horizontal, Light Red bars aternating
When we are watching high intensity colourful background images these light red bars are not noticable. When the image mainly light these light red alternating bars are more noticable. This started just a week ago.

Your problem is called retrace lines
it is due to
1 supply to red out put is absent
2 problem in red video output
3 loose contact in red output ckt
4 connector loose
5 crt base loose
6 circuit from red output of chroma ic to red video input
7 chroma ic defective

These horizontal lines are vertical flyback lines and would indicate
one or more of the tubes cathode drive circuits are defective.
As the picture is predominantly yellow this would indicate excessive drive to red and green guns. Check the red and green video output stages especialy any clamping diodes.regards from Vintie
I believe that you must reset the colors of the screen by the buttons on it or try to set colors by the software that the product came with it if any. There should be a setting to configure the 4 basic colours like red green black etc. Try to adjust green. If nothing helpes go the monitor back to test it by the store you bought it if there is warranty. Hope that helped!
This sounds like the HV protection circuit is cutting off the TV due to a high current event in the set. This could be a problem in the High Voltage section of your TV (Horizontal output transistor, Integrated High Voltage Transformer, and y of the deflection components, and or the CRT in cases of shorts).
I would suggest that if you do not have a background in electronics, you should have an experienced TV technician troubleshoot and repair this problem. This is due to the nature of the dangerous voltages that are present in the television.
sounds to me like the red colour is turned up to high try turning the red colour down in settings if that dont work you will have to find the pot that controlls the red colour and turn it down manualy.cheers darkside
If the picture shrinks away in the vertical, fast or slow, it is in the vertical control circuit.
If the whole picture shrinks in both axes simultaneously, the high voltage circuit is the culprit.
This section is responsible for producing the accelerating voltage for the beam so if it is dropping out (quite common after years of use) there will be nothing to speed the beam to the phosphor to produce light.
Turn up the intensity when the picture drops out to see if you have any trace of light.
If not, it is the latter problem.
If you can still see a horizontal line that flickers a little (from video content) then it is the first problem described.
IF the flyback (HV) transformer is still available, it will cost somewhere between $25-$100 US (many lower cost sources have disappeared) plus labor.
Depending on whether the fault was the flyback or the high power transistor that drives it, there could be additional parts needed.
Since you indicated that it operates OK for a while, it could also be something as primitive as a failed solder joint and these can be tough to find (=$$ labor).
This mogiht be a problem in the High Voltage power supply. Or the Horizontal output section of the TV. I would start off by checking the Horizontal Output Transistor and the using a high voltage probe check the CRT anode voltage to make sure it is proper. If you do not have a background in electronics I would not suggest that you attempt to work on this set.
