I fixed the "zoom error" problem..but to be honest I'm not exactly sure how..i found some "jewelers tools" and following instructions found on this sight, ever so carefully, started unscrewing screws.First I removed the lens shroud, made sure it was clean...nothing..still had zoom error so then proceeded to remove the back of the camera..looked around and kinda "shook" it out. There was one little screw left that was preventing me from getting to the gear box but it wouldnt budge and i was afraid of stripping the screw so I said heck with it and reassembled it..figured what the heck and turned it on OMG! imagine my thrill when the lens zoomed in and out just like it is supposed to! But then i inserted memory card, turned it on and got the "zoom error"message again followed by "no card". Now what?

My s7000 batterries do not last very long i am wondering if something is draining them down

PRESS RELEASE
Release Date: 12 January 2004

Fujifilm today announced that a number of early FinePix S7000 Zoom digital cameras may experience battery power depletion when used with some CompactFlashâ„¢ memory cards.

This fault does not occur when the S7000 is used with either an xD-Picture Cardâ„¢ or a Microdriveâ„¢, nor does it occur in any other Fujifilm products that offer a CompactFlashâ„¢ storage facility, such as the FinePix S2 Pro, S602, S602 Pro or M603.

Cameras with serial numbers above 34L60001 (inclusive) were produced after 15 December 2003 and therefore will definitely not experience this battery drain problem.

In the short term, the problem can be avoided by unloading then re-loading the batteries just after the camera is switched off. The camera's power supply will then perform normally.

Dear Experts, My Vista OS laptop does not recognise FujiFIlm FinePix S602 zoom digital camera, even though I have an original software disc installed and I have also dowloaded an official software update...

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

I have a Fujifilm s602 zoom and all my photo's are dark. I have changed the settings and im still having the same problem?

What settings have you changed? Pics can be made brighter by increasing the ISO and choosing a higher setting in "exposure compensation".

I cannot format cards in my Fuji S602 zoom.

Make sure your card is compatible for your camera, and or it is not defective. I know that with some camera models the card must meet specific specs. Consult your camera dealer or call Fuji photo support to verify if your card is compatible.

If you have the adabtor for your card to be used directly on your computer, you can see if formating your card with the computer will help. This is not the proper fix, but it may work for you.

My computer doesn't detect my finepix s602zoom

I have not had this problem, but I always use a card reader to upload my photos.
It saves on wear and tear on the small usb socket on the side of the camera. I can't see any reason to use a cable if all I need is to upload photos.

Drivers

You shouldn't need a driver for xp and above as it will be detected as a generic card reader..(As per the manual information)

Having said that there is a driver available from the Fuji site..

http://www.fujifilm.co.uk/consumer/digital/digital-cameras/legacy-cameras/finepix-s602-zoom/support

I remember finding this confusing when I was looking for a driver for my S602
