Acer Aspire 6930 wireless on off switch

I have had my Acer for about 6 month now and just today I opened it up and tried connecting to the internet. I go to the wireless connection screen and there are no connections available. I then check the little satelite icon that is the WLAN on off switch and it says it is enabled. When i click the "Diagnose why Windows can"t find any networks" button a message saying that i need to turn on my wireless capability switch. The message says "this can be done by using a switch, which is usually found on front or side of the computer, or a function key combination. I have looked for a switch on the front/bottom/sides/top/back and found nothing and there is nothing I am sure of that. I have also went into network connection and found a little red X next to the Wireless network connection even after i turn the WLAN on and off Via the satelite thumbnail. So if someone could tell me why my wireless is not working and how i can fix it that would be great.

The wireless card has dropped the IP address, to get the wireless router to issue the wireless card with a new IP address, right click on the wireless connection (the one with the red X) and left click on Repair.
When the red X disappears then you can connect to the Internet.

Another option, because your notebook's built-in wifi hardware is provided by Intel, is to head to https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html using the notebook, and install and run Intel's Driver And Support Assistant (Intel DSA) which should then advise you what Intel drivers are needed for your Aspire 6930.

Aspire 6930 wireless button not working

Without any wireless networks available, using your computer wirelessly is most pointless. If you want to set up a wireless access point in your home you need a wireless router, connected to Internet.

Acer Aspire 6930 internet connection problem.

As long as you didnt try and open it or effect DIY fixes on it No the warranty should be honored. You should have reported it staright away, not left it . It is possibley the network card that is flakey, especially if you are on cable rather than wireless which the anser would have been differnt.
Take it back before warranty is too far along and have it fixed or replaced.Acer are not the best units and don;t have wonderful after sales service so you might have to be firm.

My wireless internet stopped working on my acer 6930?

If you cannot locate it out the outside of the laptop or verify it is either on or off by use of the LED displays, try to unplug your wireless router for 30 seconds to 1 minute and then plug it back in, this resets your router for a much stronger signal. Hope this helps

Where is the wireless connection button on the acer aspire 6930?

The switch for the 6930 is located just above the NumLock key. It actually looks like an LED indicator of a satellite dish, but it's not. It's the button for the WiFi enable/disable. Push it hard...

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
