((((NO DISK))))

HI.This will occur when the optical assembly becomes unstable. this ((Whole One Piece)), assembly incorporates the spin/load motor, optics housing /arm, tracking device and tracking rail. This is connected to the loading dock assembly. This 'NO Disc' or CD NOT PLAYABLE, code is the result of a failed or burned out lens. It is possible that you have a dirty lens cap. you can try using a cleaning disk in this case to confirm actual lens failure. if the cleaning doesn't restore normal reading capabilities, this will confirm my diagnosis.

You will need to have the optical assembly replaced in this case. once replaced, your unit will be able to read and track once more.

Will not read dvds

Hello
If the set reads CD and MP3, and not reads DVD discs only, replace its laser pickup unit. It is faulty.

Vcr works but dvd player reads "bad disk"

What you have is a bad optical unit in the DVD portion of the equipment.

They do not sell individual parts for this unit so the entire DVD package (if it is even available) would have to be replaced---the optical portion reads the discs.

The cost of such a part would exceed the value of the unit.

I do not like giving bad news but from an economical point of view: not fixable.

When reading some disks it reads for awhile then it shows no disk. These are movies i rent, but it will read some disks.I have read manual but there is nothing useful.

If these are rental DVDs, they might be too scratched up for the DVD player to read. Look on the underside of the DVD and see if there are any scratches. If there are scratches, ask the rental place for replacement DVD

MY DVD READS LOADING DISK THEN READS BAD DISK BUT I KNOW THE DISK IS GOOD

If you are encountering this error the basic thing to consider is that your lens is dirty thus it can no longer detect the disks.

You need to clean the lens of your dvd player. So you need to open it and look for the lens inside. You will need a soft earbud and dip in alcohol and gently wipe in the lens' surface.

Tell me if this works.
