When I turn on my camera, a strange noise come out from the lens and the message "Access" appear in the screen. Then the noise stops and in the screen appear "Turn on the camera again", but when I turn on the camera again it happens the same. what can I do? thanks a lot
This indicades the lens motor/gearing is damaged or worn. Nothing for you to do except contact Sony Chances are when you see the price of a 'repair' you will opt for a new camera.

The lens cover has not come across and when the camera is switched on a whirring sound is heard. This goes on for while then the camera turns itself off. The screen displays "Access" at this point. I've tried to get the lens cover to flick across by probing around the aperture but it is not fixed.
Same issue. Camara is pretty new. When i turn it on it says "access" and it will not allow me to take pictures. routinely asks for me to turn it off and on again.
We have had that same issue with our S600, we sent it in to get fixed, and it worked fine for about 5 months. It is now doing the " Turn the camera off and then on again" thing. We have tried new batteries and the Sony assistance line, neither of which were of any help.
