LEXMARK X1185 I BOUGHT MY PRINTER AT A GARAGE SALE AND IT DID NOT COME WITH THE SOFTWARE TO INSTALL IT TO MY COMPUTER. HOW CAN I GET IT DOWNLOADED?

Go to the Lexmark web site/downloads. Assuming you have a window computer plug the printer in and go to Printers and faxes and clik on install new printer. You will get insert CD or select from list. Choose- select from list. Choose- Maker Choose- Model Windows will take it from there

Here's the link to the Lexmark website for the available Lexmark X1185 drivers you can download. I suggest not to plug the printer to your computer yet. Download and install the
software first. Just click on this link: http://bit.ly/9A3rmA. Click on the Microsoft or Macintosh dropdown to choose the version of your computer's operating system. Then

Need software downloaded

Go to this link, and type in Lexmark X1185 in the "search by model" box. On the next page, select XP as the OS. Then on the next page on the bottom right, click on download now. After it downloads, double click on it to install your printer:

Installation w/ Lexmark X1185....strange.....vista

I had that happen too, look on the taskbar for the printer icon (not the Lexmark icon). It's usually only there when printing a document and looks like a printer. If there, double click to open and make sure there are no jobs in the que. If any are listed, delete them from the file menu. See if that helps, that was my problem. Good luck !!
