I would try switching slots on the MB. I'd hate to think a new MB has bad slots, but I've seen it happen. You might also want to try the card in another computer that you know is working. If it works there, then you've got an MB problem, if it doesn't then I'd say the video is bad. Bea

Clearing the BIOS might help, pull the battery out and leave it for a while if you can't get a display to see what you're doing. I know I've run into boards that had the AGP slot disabled. Go figure!

My Dell E173fp monitor display doesn't work with my macbook

The fine print says it should work. Real life might be different. Do you have a genius bar, found at Apple stores, anywhere close? If so, make an appointment and let them make the connection for you. The genius bar is a free service and I've never found anything that they haven't been able to fix...and fix it quickly...if it's fixable.

No vga signal

Either your graphics card is going bad or your monitor is going bad or your connection is lose. Just check your connection and make sure it is tight.

Installed GeForce 8500 GT PCI-E video card and pc will not turn on

If your mboard has a builtin video card you should configure that b4 u can use that add on card.

1. connect the add on card.
2. connect the monitor to the built in VGA.
3. start system and press "F2 or Delete" to go to bios setup.
4. on bios setup " refer to the manual on installing addon PCI express card".
you find it here: http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us.

or enlosed in the board.

After configuring your system restart and unplug in the wall outlet and then connect the monitor in the add on card.

Hope you find in order.

Monitor Problem

Well assuming you used the same video cable when you tested the monitor on the Asus PC you?re left with: - Physical problem with the Asus video card. - Asus video card configuration problem. - BIOS configuration problem - Possibly a problem with the DVI/VGA adaptor depending on the answer below. A couple of questions about the Asus before we start: - I?m not sure I understand how the DVI/VGA converter figures into this. Is your cable coming off the monitor DVI thus you need it to plug into the Asus VGA connector? If yes who is the manufacturer of the device and what model do you have? - Has the Asus worked in the past with another monitor or is this new? - What is its history/configuration?

I would try another Power Supply Unit.. are you sure it's the PC and not the monitor thats faulty? You could check this by connecting another monitor, and see if it does the same...
