I have my texas instruments TI-86 calculator, but i'm making my homework and i don't know how to do make functions on the calculator i need to know how to do it.

Here is how you make graphics of functions on the TI 86. The screen captures are from the TI86 Manual by texas Instruments.

Chapter 6 oth the manual concerns Grpahic tools.

Just divide the numerator by the denominator. For example, to convert 1/4 to decimal, press 1 / 4 ENTER and see .25

Use the root function in the MATH MISC menu.

To find the 5th root of 32: enter 5 then the root function and then 32 and then ENTER to get 2.

I think you should get a Texas Instruments calculator and push the 'y=' button then put the equation like '2x+4' in the y1 area. You can put the X by using the variable botton. I hope my english makes sense I am not a native speaker.

Most likely you're trying to graph a function while you have the stat plot turned on. Turn off the stat plot and try it again.

I don't know that you can replace the screen, but you can download a TI emulator that will let you load you 86's ROM onto your computer and use it on your computer screen.
