SOURCE: Mac OS 10.5 Leopard

I was able to get my 6110 to scan by downloading HP_Installer_PSC7100_v9.7beta.dmg .  I saw this on XLR8YourMac for another HP multi-function and on a lark I decided to try it.  During the installer it won't detect the 6110, but you are able to "Skip" to the next step until it's installed.  Then, launch "HP All-in-One Device Chooser" and you will see the 6110 listed.  After I choose it there, I was able to use "HP Scan Pro" with the 6110.  I've not really tested the rest of the applications.

Epson v500 Photo scanner was working but now gives a red light and whirring noise when opening the app installed on Mac - gives warning "cannot properly connect with scanner".

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try for your Epson V500 Photo scanner: Check the connections: Ensure that your scanner is properly connected to your computer and turned on. Check the cables and ports for any damage or loose connections. Restart your computer: Sometimes, restarting your computer can fix communication issues between your scanner and computer. Reinstall the scanner software: Try uninstalling and reinstalling the scanner software on your computer. You can download the latest software from the Epson website. Check for updates: Make sure that your scanner software and computer operating system are up to date. Try a different USB port: Plug the scanner into a different USB port on your computer and see if it makes a difference. Reset the scanner: Turn off the scanner and unplug it from the power source. Wait a few minutes and then plug it back in and turn it on. If these steps don't resolve the issue, it's possible that there may be a hardware problem with the scanner that needs to be repaired.

The pdf button does not work

Make sure Epson Scan and the Epson Creativity Suite are installed correctly. See the Start Here sheet for instructions.

  • Make sure your Windows system is set up for scanner events as follows.

  • Windows Vista:
Click sw_startbutton_1_er.gif > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Scanners and Cameras, or click sw_startbutton_1_er.gif > Control Panel and double-click the Scanners and Cameras icon. Click your scanner's icon, then click Properties. (When you see the User Account Control window, click Continue). Click the Events tab in your scanner's Properties window and make sure Take no action is not selected. Also, make sure the desired button is selected in the Select an event list box, and Start this program is selected.

    Windows XP:
Click Start > Control Panel > Printers and Other Hardware > Scanners and Cameras, or click Start > Control Panel and double-click the Scanners and Cameras icon. Then right-click your scanner's icon and select Properties. Click the Events tab in your scanner's Properties window and make sure Take no action is not selected. Also, make sure the desired button is selected in the Select an event list box, and Start this program is selected.

    Windows 2000:
Click Start > Settings > Control Panel, double-click the Scanners and Cameras icon, then select your scanner and click Properties. Click the Events tab in your scanner's Properties window and make sure the Disable device events check box is not checked. Also make sure the desired button is selected in the Scanner events list box, and the desired application is selected in the Send to this application list.

Running Epson Scan Setup it says "Could not find files ..." Why?

Hello maybe your current driver is vrong or corrupted.

You can download the right driver from here:

    http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=88368&prodoid=63070478&infoType=Downloads&platform=All

But you have to select your windows system 32 or 64 bit
    to make the scanner working.
Uninstall the old driver before you install the new.

    Good luck

I get 2/3rds of the way into installing the software and driver with the set-up disc that came with the Epson V500 Scanner, then a Error Pop Up message appears saying the following. Could Not Copy...

Check that it is installing to the correct file. Normally C Drive "Program files" I would suggest you go to the control panel and locate and completely uninstall the Epson scanner program first. This will give you a clean install. Check that during the installation, the disc may ask where you want the program to be installed. If it has a suggestion, let it instal itself, where it thinks is best.

Epson v500 not able to scan negatives! When I open uop the software, they don't even give me the option to scan negatives, just photos!

You probably need to reset (not reload) the scanner software. Start the Epson scan software. Select professional mode from the pull down menu (it lets you choose between auto, home and professional.) On the next screen select at the very bottom select configuration. The next screen should have 4 tabs, select other. The at the bottom (I think) select restore to factory defaults. This will reset your software, now you can use auto mode if you want it to make all your selections or home if you want some control or professional if you want to control everything. Don't forget to use your film holder that came with the unit and remove the white cover that is locked underneath the lid that covers the film illumination bulb.
