One of the bases on the phone beeps really loud once every couple of minutes. We have tried switching phones, unplugging it and rebooting, and nothing seems to stop the beeping

Yes, you can join an older and a newer version of Uniden Dect 6.0 cordless phones to work off the same base. Here are the steps to sync them:
Disconnect the power cord from the base of both phones.
Take the battery out of each handset.
Wait for a few minutes.
Reconnect the power cord to the base of the newer version phone and insert its battery.
Wait for the phone to register on the base, which should take a few seconds.
Once the newer phone has registered, repeat steps 4 and 5 with the older version phone.
The older version phone should now register on the same base.
Test the phones to make sure they are working properly.
If for some reason the phones do not register on the same base, refer to the instruction manual that came with the newer version phone for further troubleshooting steps.

Make sure the power cord is securely plugged into the telephone base. Plug the telephone base into a different working electrical outlet not controlled by a wall switch. Move the handset closer to the telephone base. It may be out of range. Reset the telephone base by unplugging the electrical power to the base. Wait for 15 seconds and plug it back in again. Allow up to one minute for the cordless handset and the telephone base to synchronize. Other electronic products such as HAM radios and other DECT phones can cause interference with your cordless phone. Try installing your phone as far away as possible from these types of electronic devices.
With the phone in standby, press MENU/SELECT on the base.
Move the cursor to select the Register Handset menu, and then press MENU/SELECT. Handset Registering will appear.
On the handset, press and hold # until the handset beeps and displays Handset Registering.
When the handset has registered to the base, the LCD will display Registration Complete then show the handset ID number.
If the display shows Registration failed, repeat the process again.
Note: If a handset has ever been registered to a base, reset the handset before you register it to a new base

Mine does this too, and mine has no answering machine.
Tried all of the above... Nothing in their manual seems to address this...
Perhaps we could ask them to replace the equipment? Let's all try.
