Logitech 600 remote wont turn my onkyo receiver on or off

its rather simple in that either you have not found the right code or the remote will not program for that unit, not all remotes will program for all units and if do will be missing key features the original remote had.

I have bought 2 new remotes for my centurion gate motor and the shop assistant told me how to program them.....except it doesn't work - please can someone give me step by step instructions on how to do...

On a D5 Motor To program the first remote place the jumper on in learn mode over J2 and Central Pin after it has completed flashing remove the jumper. Press the button on the remote you want to program, wait until the gate starts moving. To program addtional remotes use the master remote. First remove the jumper so that the 3 pins are exposed. Press the button on the master remote and hold it in. Notice that the LED next to the pins starts flashing after it has flashed 11 times release the button. Now press the button on the second remote and hold it in it should learn the signal.

How to program my VIPER 5701 2-WAY ALARM w/REMOTE START

1. Open a door. (The GREEN wire, H1/8, or the VIOLET,

H1/6 must be connected.)

2. Insert the key. Turn the ignition to the ON position.

The heavy gauge pink wire must be connected.

Program switch corresponding to the number of the

desired function step listed in the following table.

Once you have selected the function step, press the switch once

more and hold it. The LED will flash and the siren will chirp to confirm

the selected functional step. Do not release the Program switch.

Step Function

1 Auto Learn Standard Configuration* (default)

The auto learn configuration will automatically setup the remotes button configuration.

Note: Due to the Supercode protocol, you cannot change the configuration.

2 Delete remotes: This feature will erase all remotes from the memory of the security

system. This is useful in cases when a customer's remote is lost or stolen.

Note:: This will not reset the programmed features of the security system or reset the

Virtual Tach setting.

3 Reset Features: This resets features all of the security system to the factory default settings.

Note: This feature does not delete the remotes from the security system or reset

the Virtual Tach setting.

4 Virtual Tach Reset: Deletes all previously learned values for Virtual Tach, and on the next

remote start sequence the unit will begin virtual tach initialization.

Note: The "Zap" feature on the Bitwriter will not reset the Virtual tach setting.

4. Transmit. While holding the Valet/Program switch, press

the lock button on the remote control. The unit will chirp

to confirm that the code has been successfully pro

grammed. It is not possible to teach a remote control but

ton to the system more than once.

5. Release. Once the code is learned, the Valet/Program

switch can be released.

If you have a learning universal remote, such as the MX-500, just put the remote in learning mode, press the button on the universal remote you want to program then press the appropriate button on the other remote. Otherwise, we'll need to know also what remote control you have. They are not all alike.

Strand 3 in 1 Master Remote Control

You can find the remote control codes for different brands of devices from
http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/codes-tv.shtml#tv

If none of the codes work then we have two other solutions:

1. Searching For Your Code

If you have tried all of the set-up codes for your brand of equipment ,or your brand is not listed, and you are still not able to get the unit to respond, try the following procedure to search for your code.
If you don't find a code that works, the remote will flash four times when you reach the end of all the codes for this device type.
  1. PRESS the button for the device you want to program, (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.), then RELEASE.
  2. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
  3. ENTER 9-9-1 (two blinks on the remote)
  4. ALTERNATE slowly between the POWER key and the DEVICE (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.) button until your device turns off. (On VCR, LD, and CD players use PLAY instead of POWER)
Make sure that the remote is pointed at your device during the search, You may have to press this sequences of buttons up to 100 times to search the entire library of codes.
  5. When your device turns OFF, PRESS the SETUP button and RELEASE it to lock in the code for your device.

2. Learn the buttons from the original

Line up your original remote and the head-to-head before completing the following steps.
  1. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice.
  2. PRESS 9 - 7 - 5, the red LED will flash twice.
  3. PRESS the DEVICE key where you wish to learn the function. The next 3 steps must be completed within 10 seconds.
  4. PRESS the button that will receive the learned function, the LED will flash rapidly.
  5. PRESS the button on the original remote to be learned.

Now you can repeat steps 3 through 5 to learn other functions onto other keys or press and hold SETUP until the Cinema's red light flashes twice to lock in your new feature. (If the red light does not blink twice, stop and repeat steps through 6).
To test the new feature, press and release the device key in which the new feature was learned followed by the key on which the feature was learned
