Question about Mitsubishi WS-55819 55" Rear Projection Television
I went through the self diagnosis and got a 2 - 3 on the led front panel. I think this is a deflection protect (maybe a loss of vertical or horizontal deflection). I have heard through other people that there problem was the IC's behind the heatsink and another person had said it was there power switch that was bad. Just need assistance in finding exactly what it is so I don't get the wrong part. Do not have a schematic either. Thankyou, Wade
Wade, is your manual an electronic PDF? If it is please send to [email protected] we will give it a look and see what we can find together. also without the diagnostics, is the little green light in front flashing?

If the set is completely dead, this should not be too bad of a repair UNLESS it received a power surge or a lightning strike. I will be waiting for the manual.
Wade, check IC9A20, the power regulator IC on pin 1 for 164 volts, then pin 2 for.2 volts, then pin 4 for 17 volts, and pin 5 for 2.5 volts
No DC voltage?
Are the voltage there all the time, or only when you first turn on the TV set? If they are there all the time, on that same board, on the other side of the big transformer, check the voltages on L9A55, and L9A57 and let me know what they are and if they are there all the time.
Well you have to replace the regulator iC first I'm afraid. We need to see if the power supply shuts down by reading the voltage before you turn it on and while and after you turn on the TV set.

Hello Wade, We first need to find out what is wrong and to do that you need to contact the manufacture and get a schematic. Let me explain why. A television is a complex system, and there are components that channel hugh amounts of voltage and current, to go into the section that you need to go into without a schematic is ill-advised, I don't mean to sound preachy, but having 25 years of Electronics experience, two degrees in Electronics Engineering, being a Certified Electronics Technician, and a Certified Broadcast Technologist, even with all of this I don't do anything with electricity or electronics without having a schematic. The reason I said all of this was because of your last statement. I want to help you, but part of that help requires that you meet me or anyone here on FixYa half way, and if any of the technicians here require that you get a schematic, they are not telling you that because they want you to spend money, they are telling you that because they need to know what voltage levels are present and what ones are not. That could be the difference between you spending $400.00 (IHVT, HOT, Volt reg) and you spending .25 cent (Fuse). Now this is what I want you to do, I want you to call the manufacture and get a schematic, then I want you to get a Digital Multimeter. After you have these items, I will spend as much time as you need helping you with fixing this TV. I said all of this because I want to help you fix this problem but you have to at least beable to tell me what the circuit conditions are. I hope I have not offended you, Respectfully Submitted, Shuttle83

Have been closed out for some reason and have not even started the troubleshooting process with Shuttle 83. Must of got acceppted for some reason, was not me unless it was an accident. I was waiting for the schematics he told me to order. They will be in today, can you reconnect me with him. He is waiting my reply. Please take care of this problem, do not want to talk to a different person and pay again.
Thank you,
Wade

Regards,
I have the service manual with schematics and all, I have a meter and am ready for the troubleshooting. There has been some other information about the TV since we talked last. I had unplugged it from the outlet for about a day and a half, it worked good for a whole day after plugging it back in, but early the next morning noticed the green power light had turned itself on overnight. Could not turn it off with the remote or at the tv panel, had to unplug it. Sure seems like it is the power supply/power switch but I am ready to verify the problem with your help.
Thank You,
Wade
Hello Techman,
The green light in front never flashed at any time. Now, as of yesterday, the tv will not even power on at all at the panel or the remote. No green light either. I had the service manual sent to me on a cd. I will try to send the schematics to you without the diagnostics.
Thank You,
Wade
Just sent the schematics for your reviewing. I will wait for your assistance.
Thank You
Wade
Techman, checked pins 1, 2, 4 & 5 at IC9A20. I'm getting 60vac at each one.
pin 1=163.3v 2=.013v 4=14.34v 5=1.83
Sorry about the first readings
Techman, I'm not sure if you recieved my last message with the readings. It's been two days? Anyway the voltage readings at IC9A20 checked good.
Wade
powered the tv on second later it powers back off, I then checked pin 1 and still was getting 164v. Went to check pin 2 and must of incidentaly touched something because had a spark. I guess I shorted out the power regulator because now I'm getting no voltage out of any of the pins. I'm assuming I have no choice but to change out the power regulator. Can you tell me the easiest way to do this. Do I slide the chassis out or take the pcb power card out only? Can you reccommend a parts place I can order from. I feel like I'm back at square one, because this probably was not the problem. I did locate L9A55 & 57 but could not of checked voltage because they where flush to the board? Would appreciate any advice to get me going in the right direction. Thank You, Wade
Can you recommend a place where I should get the regulator? Is it easiest to remove the chassis?
Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection)
