Yours is a 2 speed motor. Does it spin in 2 different speeds. If so, then it most likely is designed with only to agitate in 1 speed. If it only spins in one speed, then your motor is defective
if it will not drain or spin it is a bad lid switch,if it drains but will not spin it is the motor coupler, tip it back and look between the motor and trans that is where the coupler is located-mike
I believe these are made by whirlpool and use a rubber coupling to connect the drive motor . they are five dollars and change in half an hour if your half way mechanical.
THIS IS A TYPICLE PROBLEM . BETWEEN THE MOTOR & THE TRANSMISSION THERE IS A COLLECTOR ASSEMBY (THREE PIECE
SET) REAL EASY TO GET TOO EASY TO FIX . ALSO COST EFFICENT
Unplug machine, remove water pump and motor, behind the motor is a coupler, take broken parts to your local appliance parts store. Costs 16 bucks, replace the broken parts with new ones, reassemble machine. Never ever do a blanket/comforter in your machine again!!
this is the site to find out how to fix your washer. you have a broken drive coupling. it probably wont agitate or spin, but will fill and drain. you need to remove 2 screws from the control panel, hinge it back and then remove the 2 brass colored clips that hold the cabinet to the base. once you do then pull the entire cabinet forwards to a 45 degree angle and pull it off the base. then pull the 2 clips off pump and then 2 more on the motor. that will allow you to get to the drive coupling. you will find it to be broken. replace it with part number 285753a for about 15-20 bucks.
your agitator dogs are stripped there about $10.00,remove cap to replace. easy, need 1/2 to 3/8 adapter or 7/16 socket depending on model. and your coupler is broken about $20.00 its what runs yous washer its like your belt under neath between motor and transmission , less cloths max water will stop it from happening again
CHECK SEE IF MOTOR IS SEIZED BY TIPPING MACHINE FORWARD AND SEE IF YOU CAN TURN THE MOTOR BY HAND. IF MOTOR TURNS FREELY , YOU HAVE A START CAPACITOR PROBLEM.
