DS Lite does not power up

Hi there, DS lite will not powerup. I have confirmed that battery has full charge by swapping from another working DS. When I plug in the charger, the left hand light flashes Orange once, then goes out. It is my sons DS, nt sure what happened, no signof water damage, does not look like it was dropped (no visable shock damage).

If the console has overcharged or has been used for long periods of time or could just be fluke, chances are the fuses are blown on the main motherboard try this link, this guy fixed my ds and i had the exact same problems as you guys have

I have the same problem with my sons DS Lite. I called Nintendo at 1-800-255-3700 which is in your Manual, my DS Lite is not even a year old. They are sending me a refurbished unit, which is next to brand new for free. It comes with a 1 year warranty. When the new one arrives you send back the old one to them. They pay for postage and everything. I guess this is better than not having a DS at all and who wants to spend the money on another. Give it a try. And as for a diagnosis of the problem they think it can be a electronic component inside the unit but they are not sure. Hope this helps ya !!! Smilie

What is the power back up of ds lite

I called NintendoDS Lite does not power up - 5.gif at 1-800-255-3700 as the other user suggested. (I had the orange light flashes once problem, too.) They emailed me a FedEx label to have the DSLite repaired. They ship it back UPS ground. Total turnaround time is approx. 16 days. I'm happy. The best part is you get a human being on the phone on Nintendo's customer service.

I have a Nintendo DS Lite that will not charge. The orange LED does not come on at all and after leaving connected for 12 hours, the battery is not charged, red LED comes on after a second or two. I have...

it sounds like it's a battery problem.

If you want to replace your battery, call Nintendo's Consumer Assistance Hotline at 1-800-255-3700 from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. Pacific Time, and order a replacement battery there. I believe it costs around US$15.00.
If you still need assistance I would suggest you check our online troubleshooting here. Depending on the specifics of your situation, the problem may be the DS Lite, the battery, or the AC adapter.
PCHELPSTER007 from youtube
p.s. Before doing this you could maybe try using a different charger

DS won't turn on

Hi Atticus,

I have seen this happen when someone plugs the wrong charging cord up to the DS lite, Is there any chance some one did this to your DS lite.It sounds also as if the battery is not making proper connection.

  1. REmove the battery from the compartment
  2. inspect the connector on the battery and where the battery connects to the DSlite.
  3. Wipe thee connections off some way. I suggest some contact cleaner for bith the battery and Battery compartment connections
  4. Try the DS lite again with the battery installed.

I hope this gets you in business  Atticus. Do not Vote until we get it working.  Try this and add a comment to this problem posting. I will answer as soon as I possibly can. Thank you very much for the opportunity to solve your porblem with a DS Lite.

Hi my nintendo ds lite battery is dead and my charger is lost is there any other way to charge it without a charger?

You can try charging your DS lite using a phone charger. In order for this to work the charger must
  • Output around 5.2 volts
  • The end of the plug must look like the second plug from the left in this picture
When plugging this cord into your DS lite do NOT force it in. If you push to hard it may break the DS lite.

Everytime I wanted to charge my ds lite, the power turns red then it turned off in a second. I don't know where the problem comes, if it's the charger or the ds itself

Hi,

Possibly both, or it could be your battery. Have you tried another battery? or tried the same charger on another DS lite?

I suggest you get another battery or another charger, whichever is cheaper , or try it on a friends.

If your charger and your battery works, then it is your charging port, it will have to be replaced.

We had this problem with a brand new DS Lite...turns out it was a bad charger. If you have access to another charger, try that first. Good luck!

Nintendo ds lite

It's not likely to be battery, but fracture in ribbon cable to top screen causing this. Both screens must be connected or you get the symptom you've explained.
