Hello, the ouput voltage varies, depending on the type of monitor and size. if it is Hp product is 18Volts.but since it is philips i suggest you look at the body of the adapter where you will see the Dc ratings and other Voltage ratings. and you can go along with the adapter to the store you are buying a new one.

My samsung sync master 151 -s screen is completely black, The rest of the pc opereates fine. The screen was working fine, then left to idle for a few hours now it appears really dark.

Try turning off the power to the monitor and the computer, check all the cables and power it all back up again. If the monitor is still black, try plugging it into another computer or into a laptop and see if it works there. If it does work, then the problem is the video card in the computer. If it is built into the mother board, then you can disable it in the bios setup and buy a PCI or AGP video card on eBay to plug into *********** board.

Philips 150S4 does not switch on every time the PC is switched on - suspect it is powersupply problem. Thanks Louis

You check the cable that's used to connect the cpu and that monitor, and the cable that's connected to the power supply. You unplug and plug it. You may have a loose connection on plugs. It works for me. Hope this helps.

Power failure issues

The specs for this monitor is a 60 Watt, 12 Volt, 5 Amp power adapter. The voltage must be the same. You can always get an adapter with a higher Amperage rating, but never get one with less, as this can overheat the adapter and damage it. I was not able to locate specs on whether the voltage to the monitor is DC or AC... most are DC. If this is the case, the observe the polarity at the monitor. Power adapters have a positive and a negative... center and outer contact, Make sure that the power adapter matches that of the monitor, else it will not work.
