Xerox Phaser 2135

When we turn on the printer it boots up and trys to print a welcome page or something. It sits there doing nothing except a message that says, "processing from tray 1". It sits there a long time doing nothing and then it comes up with a paper jam failure. It tells us to lift the top cover and check. We have and there is nothing. We have followed all the guidlines from Xerox's web site but we still can not get it to work. We have replaced all of the toners, the thing that is below them and yet still nothing. We have had two repair men come out and try to fix it and have spent a couple hundered dollars with them looking at it but it is still not fixed. Do you have any suggestions

    No, it is for all the trays....even the manual feeder will not work. The third repair man told me that it could be the engine contoller board. Does this sound right? I found one for $ it worth it?

    I have only gotten the error of Tray 4 I/F only after I get the "paper jam" error and try and change drawers to print from.

    What happens when I turn it on is:

    1. Boots
    2. Loading
    3. Printing welcome page
    4. Paper jam

    Then, when I try and chage the drawer it will take from, I get an error on that drawer and even the manual feeder.

    I have now had the engine controller board replaced and it still gives me the same problem....still goes through these steps:

    1. Boots
    2. Loading
    3. Printing welcome page
    4. Paper jam

    I final figured out what the problem was after spending a lot of money on Xerox repair service was a stupid drum on one of the colors. When I looked at all of the drums on the colors, one of them had a plastic piece that was broken off. There are two little plastic pieces on the side of the drum or legs as I like to call them and one of them had broken off on the magenta drum. Replaced the drum for the magenta and it works!!!

    I HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM!!!!!! It was something VERY simple that should have been noticed by any professional repair serviceman...but it wasn't. We paid three different repairmen and final discovered what the problem was.

    One of the imagine drums (magenta to be exact) had a little plastic piece broken off the bottom of it. The best way to describe it would be that each drum has two little plastic pieces on each side hanging down like Florida. One of the pieces were broken off.

Try to isolate the problem. You said that the printer is Displays Tray 4 I/F Error Power Off/On. Put paper only on the Manual Tray (Tray 1), just to force the printer to print from that Tray. If the paper pass all the way through the machine, then you know that there is no paper inside the top portion of the printer. Now repeat the same thing with Tray #2,#3, and any other Tray but not #4. If the printer works fine with all the other Trays, probably Tray 4 is the problem or the whole drawer. Check switching another Tray with Tray 4.

The only way to reset the image unit drum is installing a new one. The new image unit has a fuse which once blown it resets the counter on the machine. You can call I have their information in my ad place. They are good techs. I once called for a 7300 image unit reset and they said it was almost the same as a 2135 and they gave me this information. well goodluck.

Try disconnecting the printer completely from power and from the PC.
Reboot the PC.
Connect the printer again and try printing now.

Zebra 105SL The printer was printing labels just fine on Friday. Monday morning it won't print anything. I send a document to it for printing and it just sits there doing nothing. Everything is connected...

Go to "Printers and Faxes" or "Devices and Printers" and try printing a test page by right clicking on the icon and choosing printer properties. This will better define if the problem is something wrong with the printer or connection OR if it is a software issue.

1. check that not any firewall or antivirus software blocking your printer.

2. try to look in paper settings what format you sending to the printer. is it letter format or A4 or what ? it should be A4.

have you tried to connect the printer with USB? or have you connected the printer with a network cable.?

Hi, Printer Has Blank Display Issue Description: Some customers may report that the control panel display is not working on their LJ2400 Series printer. Most of the units are right out of the box. This goal of this document is to help you troubleshoot the problem and provide a solution for the customer. Symptoms Customers will see: Printer powers on, motor rotation and fan sounds can be heard during boot cycle, but the control panel display is blank and there is no backlight . Printer prints engine test page. Printer powers on, motor rotation and fan sounds can be heard during boot cycle, but there is backlight . Printer prints engine test page. Troubleshooting requested by engineers: BACKLIGHT PRESENT, BUT NO TEXT DISPLAYS Disconnect all connections to printer except for power cord. Plug power cord directly into wall outlet and power cycle. Can motor rotation sounds be heard? Reseat memory DIMM in slot. Check cable connections on formatter ? particularly control panel power (J4), ECU-Formatter flat ribbon cable (J5), and power from the ECU (J6). NO BACKLIGHT Verify that the engine is powering up when power cycled by listening for motor rotation sounds. Ask the customer to print an engine test page. (See photo below for access to engine test page button.) If engine does NOT print test page, problem is with the engine, not formatter or control panel. (Service required.) Check cable connections on formatter ? particularly control panel power (J4), ECU-Formatter flat ribbon cable (J5), and power from the ECU (J6). Verify boot select jumper on the formatter PCB is installed on the bottom two (correct) pins (see photo below) to ensure the unit ?boots? from the firmware chip on-board the formatter. NOTE: The BOOT SELECT position (top two pins) is only used to boot from a FW-loaded compact flash card. If incorrect, reseat boot select jumper onto the bottom two (correct) pins. Attempt to print a configuration page ? ?back? button (x3, to clear any undisplayed messages) -- check button -- down arrow -- check button -- down arrow -- check button. If configuration page prints, verify contents and, assuming you find nothing wrong with configuration, you may assume that the problem lies with the display portion of the control panel. Printer does not print . Just installed it. It printed 6 pages of different documents then when I had found something else I wanted to print, Nothing not even an error message. Its a LEXMARK SERIES 1300...

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

My shared printer will only print a test page and nothing else!

Have you made the new connected printer on 2 other PC's the default printer. Try selecting the printer in word by not just clicking on printer icon but using the following:

Zebra ZM600 - ribbon in error

Make sure the ribbon sensor is in the proper position and that there is nothing covering it, like a piece of label that came off and got stuck to the sensor. Here is a picture of where the sensor is located. Did you make sure you put the ribbon sensor plate back in? If not you will get this message. Make sure the Print Method is correctly set! Although I exclusively use Thermal-Transfer (ribbon is loaded along with label stock) my 140xIII had Print Method set to Direct-Thermal and printed labels just fine. The only problem I could see was that the Ribbon In warning would not go away.
After changing the Print Method the warning went away and printing continues as before

Printer prints test page each time printer is turned on

There may be something initialised to print a test page everytime it starts, just remove printer, uninstall driver and re start. Re install drivers and connect printer when prompted or when installation has finished. This should revert to default settings.
