If your LCD is cracked, you will need to unfortunately replace the entire LCD. Simply putting a screen protector (which is just a thin film) will not stop the crack from getting worse. There is unfortunately no magical way to fix your screen other than simply replacing the LCD panel itself, which is totally doable. Many electronics repair shops can fix your TV pretty easily. In some cases, you can even mail it into Toshiba.

Many people are having this issue. Search for 46RV530U. There is someone trying to file a class action suit for this exact issue.

The front glass is just a protector for the LCD screen. If your TV turns on and the picture looks ok (may be a little color variation around the crack if front glass is pushing on it, variation OK black Bad) If the picture looks within the range described then replace the glass. It is just a piece of standard glass and a pretty easy diy job. If the LCD screen is broken the repair will be more than the replacement cost. Sad fact US TV repairmen make a living wage while the workers that assembled you TV wouldn't be able to buy lunch here with what they made putting it together.

i have a 65hx81 toshiba that isnt working tell me what you think is a good $. and i will sell you the whole tv then you can make one good one out of both. the screen is fine and the guy i got it from said that it is one of the boards in it is bad.

Common problem is called convergence mis-alignment.
A correct repair requires above average technical ability.
Prevent maintenance and correct parts will be needed.
Most repair shops charge about 400.00 for an incomplete job.
Check other Tosh "H" Line solutions already written.....T.

My Toshiba TE55T11 also has a broken screen. I contacted the Toshiba hot line in Australia and they said that they don't make screens for this TV anymore. so i just got a new Toshiba 72CM9UA.
