My shop vac won't turn back on after emptying

I emptied the canister and cleaned the filter on my shop vac and now it acts like there is no power getting to it.

I have removed the pleated filter and cleaned out all the dry stuff. When I turned on the ShoVac and put the hose near the water, it did nothing!

I'm afraid you'll need to take it apart. the switch is mounted in a plastic holder in the top. While you got it apart and without it plugged in, check to see that both brushes are touching the commutator. there should be sufficient spring tension to hold the brushes against the spinning part [commutator] if even one brush isn't making contact it won't spin.

Is it possible that I'm not locking the dirt container when I put it back on why vacuum is totally getting covered with dust and dirt

The answer is simple...vacuums with filters allow air and anything finer than the size of the filter holes to pass through...if you hold a light over your bag and turn the vac on, you will see an explosion of fine dust coming from the bag...Vacs work on airflow, so the less air flowing through the bag, the less dirt you pick up...clogged bag = no airflow=no cleaning. Bagless vacs should have the filters cleaned after every use, and the canister emptied and washed. Buy a Rainbow to eliminate these problems.

I cleaned the filter and emptied out the canister from the bottom and now the dirt comes out on my filter and not in the canister?

The first place the "dirty" air enters is the top chamber of the canister where it traps the bigger stuff.

The canister has two clean-out doors so make sure you open them both (top and bottom) or you could have problems.

Nice thing about the Shark as it has a number of clean-out points starting at the base of the hose where it enters the bottom of the vac. to the beater brush (on the bottom of just behind the brush assembly). Good luck!

Why is dirty water shooting out of my wet/dry vacuum

It's full, needs emptied. You have to keep the sponge like filter in to collect the water mist.

I've been using a small shop vac in the seller to vacuum up dust, sawdust etc. I have emptied the inside and the filter looks laden with dust. It does not "****" any longer. What is wrong and what do I do...

you have to clean the filter too. Use an air hose to clean it or brush it off with a stiff brush or you can wash it if it isn't paper. As a last resort you can get a new one.

Water leaking from out of the heppa filter

Reasons for that to happen:
a) You have tilted the vac while vacuuming
b) Used the Rainbow without separator (basket like thing on the bottom of the motor)
c) Overfilled the rainbow tank with water (may have happened when shampooing with AquaMate)

Clean and install back the separator, remove HEPA, Set the Rainbow on empty water pan (with HEPA removed) turn it on for a while so everything will dry. Install new HEPA.

You will have to get a new HEPA filter (you can find them HERE)

Good Luck,
Rocky

Deodorizing the vacuum

First of all Clean out the vacum cleaner . Empty canister and take filter outside and hit on something to get all dust out . Now wash canister and filter with vinegar water and let dry before using vacum again. You might try using carpet fresh for pet odors on carpet and empty and clean canister and filter regularly. I own a cleaning business and this is a hard problem to solve with all vac. cleaners. Good Luck!!

Emptying the water from the Shop Vac 925-13 Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum

Stand in front of the vaccuum with the lable facing you, the 2 release levers are on the left and right sides, attached to the motor housing, which sits atop the tank/canister. Pull out and up on the levers, twist counter-clockwise, lift straight up and the motor housing will follow, leaving the tank/canister on the floor.
