PHOTOSMART 2610 DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM: Power outage, all lights are blinking, on Display there are no error, it has a lot of question marks.

same problem here. i leave my printer on all the time. sometimes the lights for the buttons just start blinking and have random text and ? marks on the display. usually have to cycle the power for it to work again. So far have found no solution.

I have the same problem. We were hit by a lightning strike. I love this printer, but guess it is time to kiss it goodbye.

Have The Same Problem, Trouble Is The Cartrides Cant Come Out. There Seems to Be A Device Beneath The Cartridge The Is Raise. Cause, Probably Lightning. Suggestion New Printer

If your product is in warranty then I recommend you to contact HP support to service or replace the unit. Otherwise perform the steps given below and verify the results.

Turn on the unit.
Disconnect the power cord from the back of the unit.
Press and hold the # and 7 buttons simultaneously.
While still holding down the # and 3 buttons, connect the power cord to the back of the unit.
Continue holding the buttons until the Power button blinks.
Follow the instructions that display on the unit to select the language settings.

Photosmart 2610 with power on get Error 0x886a6916

0x error codes indicate that the product has an internal error. Try to reset the printer:

1. Without turning off the product, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the product.
2. Remove the cartridges from the product.
3. Wait for the 'Insert Cartridges ' message to display on the control panel.
4. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
5. Wait 60 seconds.
6. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button
7. Reinsert the cartridges, and then close any open doors on the product
8. If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.
9. Reconnect the USB cable to the rear of the product, and then try printing again.

Problem with HP Photosmart 2610

You need to reset the printer.. Unplug it from the power.

Then please remove the USB Cable from your PC completely.
Restart your PC without connecting USB cable back to your PC.
Now connect the USB Cable into the USB Jack from both ends and start your PC.
After doing above steps please reboot your PC finally.

And push the power button for 4 times and then power on .

Let me know the result, so I can further investigate the problem.

I contacted www.hp.com and after a while we decided it is fried.
Lightening had hit my cable box and must have got the printer too.
All it will do is flash even after trying to reset to factory settings.

I changed the black ink cartridge in my printer with an appropriate hp product. I am not able to insert the cartridge correctly in the system. It constantly reads, remove and receck cartridge on right. I have purchased two ink cartridges at this time. Do you think the printer is broken? Please respond.
