Are the lights on the router stay on or blinking ?

The power light should stay solid as long as the router is plugged in. The WAN light and LAN lights are solid when you are connected, and the connection is idle. The lights blink when traffic is present. The lights are off when there is no connection.

When i plug it in with out anything plugged into it it automatically starts blinking select green lights is there anything i can do to fix this?

The all lights will starts blinking everytime the switch is powered ON.
This is normal process as the switch is checking the status of all its ports during startup.

Please wait for 5-10 minutes this activity will completed and the port lights will not blink if nothing is connected.

If it still blinks without anything connected to the ports then you need to ask the vendor for a replacement.

Don't have internet connection

This particular 8-port Ethernet switch/hub has auto-negotiation on both speed as well as MDI, MDI-X.  Therefore, the problem is not with your switch/hub, it's probably with the particular port that you're connecting it to on your Router.  Make sure that it's the LAN side, not the WAN side.
