Sanyo Tv color problem

Hello, The TV is four years old. About two weeks ago the screen suddenly had a complete red tint. I tried adjusting the color settings but nothing really improved. the next time I turned it on, it was fine. But the time after that it turned red again. Now it more and more often has a deep red tint. Any advice? Thanks

I would check the green signal all the wat to the display screen to determine is this is a signal problem or a system short. I would recommend that you take this set to a qualified electronics technician

Thanks please do not adjust any thing. your problem is in red color cathode ckt it might be loose contact in red cathode. crt base might be loose. check red output supply. signal line from chroma ic to crt base. regards thanks

Hello,

The red/pink tint is caused by one of two things, either the backlight bulbs are going out or the power supply that powers the bulbs is not putting out enough voltage to fully light the bulbs. The backlights are just really small fluorescent bulbs, if they don't have full power they light with a pink tint. No amount of adjusting will correct this issue. You will need to have the TV serviced.

Too much green color
Problem solved. I tried playing DVD and the TV picture was fine. So I double-checked cable wires from cable box - one of the wires was loose (obviously it was the red color input). After tightening, the TV picture is good as new.

Screen Green Tint
Turn down your color and see if the screen has a normal black & white screen. If it doesn't then the CRT is bad (picture tube). If it is black & White then you have a either lost your red or blue.That problem will be in your video driver circuit of which a service center can handle.
