I have a kenmore 70 series washer and the water will not drain...pls help
The lid switch is probably bad . If you dont hear any noise with the lid down , lid switch . If you do hear motor running with lid down , something in pump or bad pump . For lid switch , sometimes you can put a screwdriver in the hole on the top to activate the switch to get the water out .

Your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley or a broken pump belt. To check the pulley you should remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate its pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely (frozen or stiff) it should be replaced. In case of a broken pump's belt or belt looks quite worn, replace it. In any case, check the pump's pulley before you replacing the belt. Let me know if you need for further assistance. Good luck

look at the bottom of the control panel on the end caps and back out the two screws then pull the control panel slightly forward and tilt it back then you should see gray wires either going in the body of the washer or to a switch on the left side un plug the harness and put a jumper wire across the connector going to the control panel then try spin

Warning!
To avoid personal injury or even death, always disconnect your
appliance from its power source--that is, unplug it or break the
connection at the circuit breaker or fuse box--before you do any
troubleshooting or repair work on your appliance. Also, because some
components may have sharp edges, use caution while working on your
appliance.
Some problems that can occur with your top-loading washing machine are:
There's an error code on the digital display
It doesn't work at all
It won't drain
It doesn't spin
It doesn't agitate
It's noisy
It leaks
It's off balance
There's no hot water
There's no cold water
It's slow to fill
There's no water at all
The clothes are wet after spinning
The cycle doesn't advance
There's no delicate or regular spin or agitate
It's overfilling
It's underfilling
The water temperature is incorrect
Hope this may help;

Does it make motor noise?
Check for belt issue if there is a motor noise and no spin.

It appears your pump has failed in this instance.
For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...
FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.
PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.
If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.
If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Can replacement parts be purchased at a local Sears store?
GE profile washer not that old but out of warrenty. Goes thru complete cycles and no visable water in tub but sometimes cloths are wetter than others. Tried moving washer to check drain hose and can hear water sloshing in bottom of machine. Have not yet taken drain hose off. Is there a problem with hose (clog) or drain pump? Pump appears to work but not all water evacuates.
