Hi there this hack worked with my pl510......thats if you haven't already sorted it.
This Hack works on the PL510 and Pl510T The PL510 & PL510T player is not Multiregion by default. To activate this player as Multiregion complete following instructions. · Turn on your player. · Close DVD disk door without a disk inserted. · Press the following sequence of keys on your remote control. · Press "SET-UP". · Press “Next” & then “Prev”. · Again press “Next” & then “Prev”. · Region # appears on top right hand corner of your TV screen (1-6 being your existing region code) · Change version (region) by pressing < button until 255 appears (correct code for Multiregion). · Press "SET-UP" again & scroll down to exit. · Press " SET-UP " again. · Insert DVD disc and play.

Audiovox code hack for DVD players 1. Turn the DVD player on
2. Go to the main setup page
3. In the main set up page press the numbers 9653
4. In the new menu go to region press enter
5. In region use the up and down arrow to select the region
6. Turn the DVD player off and turn it on
7. You now should have changed to the region of choice.
This hack was found on the internet. I hope this information helps you with your problem.
DVDs are ecoded with region codes to indicate what area of the world they are made for. These codes may be 1,2,3, etc depending on which region they are made for.
DVD player read these codes and if the disc region code does not match the region the device is made for, the player will not play the disc.
Region 1 is for USA so most DVDp players made for use in USA require region 1 discs.
Some DVD players called multi region DVD players can be set to play different region DVDs but they are typically more expr=ensive then one region players and the code must be changed each time a different region disc is played.
Look on ebay, if you still see the video, then it is just the backlight that is broken. Put in your model and add the word parts to your search. Be sure to read if the parts one you are buying has a working backlight.
power up your dvd without a disc. using your remote keypad input 9735. a secret menu should apprear. select your region code or choose 0 which will allow all discs to play.
this will work with the mp70c but not with all mustek models. other solutions are available with an exhaustive google search
