If its loose where you plug the adapter in, its that your dc power jack pins have come loose from the motherboard due to heat/broken soldering joint/tilting it.
this can be fix by a experienced certified tech in a computer shop that can solder the pins on the dc power jack back to the motherboard.
hope this helps.

Try to remove the battery and then plug the power adapter only. If does not power up try with battery only and then if not your motherboard is bad. You can send it to us and we will fix it

How much would that cost?
Hi, since this morning my Dell Latitude C640 won't boot:
There is exactly 0 reaction to pressing the power button.
No LEDs flashing, nothing at all.
All is plugged in, AC-Adapter light is a steady green.
I tried removing the keyboard, booting from battery, with or without CD drive and/or battery, with and without the memory modules, no change whatsoever.
Any help is welcome.
Is there some kind of motherboard reset function?
The strange thing is that nothing special has happened between yesterday and today. :.(
new battery new adapter no power
