Question about Computers & Internet
I recently got my pc back from the shop. and was trying to install my mother board drivers via the cd. I browsed the cd and tried installing a sound component, when all of a sudden the blue screen came up saying windows shut down to prevent a problem.
I start back up and my cd burner is no longer in the My Computer menu. Nor can I use the cd rom/burner to load anything. I can open and close it. but nothing.
I see many sites including this one. with a fix where you delete the lower or upper filters from the registry. But with my pc these ''Upper'' and ''Lowerfilters'' are not there. How can i get them back or. what can i do to get my cd rom working again?
Im running windows xp service pack 3....Apparently.
Try using device manager and deleting the CD from it, then reboot and let windows do its thing with intalling it again. Let me know if windows does NOT try to reinstall the CD drive or you get any error messages
