Re: CANNOT PRINT DOCUMENT
More information is needed! First check to see if the print job actually went to the printer. Click start-control panel - printers and doubleclick on the 2600n. Are the print jobs sitting there waiting to go out to the printer? If so, your problem is probably in the computer or the cable leading to the printer.
Look for an error message in the title bar of that window. If present, it will give you a good idea what is wrong.
While there, use the first menu item (printer?) to "cancel all jobs". That can take a while, even a restart. There should be a "pause printing" item. If this has a checkmark beside it, choose the item to uncheck it.
In the same menu, check the "set as default printer" item. If that isn't checked, when you print you must choose the printer. So you can't just click a print icon, you have to pull down the file menu, choose print, and then the 2600n in the dialog before clicking the print button.
HP printers have a utility program that can tell you what is going on. Click start, look for Hewlett-Packard or HP, then the printer name and finally something like "HP Laserjet utility". Look for error messages which give some idea what is wrong. Could be an empty cartridge, for example.

Black printer ink in HP Printer may fail to be recognized by the printer. Most times an error message will be sent indicating that something is wrong with the black print cartridge. Sometimes the printer may accept to print with the black ink, but the printouts may have horizontal lines and very illegible letters. In such a case a manual cleaning of the print head should be carried out. In doing the manual cleaning, one should spray Windex heavily on paper towel and wipe off the surface of the print head.
1. Remove lid/top
2. Move blue lever left or right to unlock ribbon roll
3. Loosen ribbon or tighten as needed -
NOTES: If ribbon roll is too tight it will show wrinkles; it should look smooth if positioned correctly; if too tight it will not print portions of some letters; keep re-positioning if this does not work after first try.
4. Use flat-head screw driver to adjust front uptake (used) ribbon-roll as needed to make it smooth too. Lift out & re-position, if you need to.
THIS WORKED FOR ME but I had to re-do my re-positioning of both rolls several times before it began printing 100% of letters again. Journal Kentucky Lexington Monitor www jklm us
