Re: My PS2 has become blank
You may have blown a fuse or two. Only way to find out is to open the console. You have one easy to identify Fuse on the power Supply board, it is a Glass with silver ends type fuse. If it blows you have a power supply problem. Which is probably due to lack of cooling or a buildup of dust that has come into contact with humidity. Clean the internal completely. The fuses on the motherboard are harder to find. The are small box shaped surface mount components, and each one with have a PS1 or PS2, type number next to it. If you are not comfortable working with this , the Playstation Clinic can help you. www.playstationclinic.com. I can repair it and try my best to keep the Labor Charge under $25, plus shipping. Shipping is between $8 and $12 depending on your preference of shipping. The return shipping cost is $10.60. I do not gouge on shipping. The $10.60 is USPS Priority Flat rate with $50 insurance added. i hope this helps you. Regards, Greg at the Playstation Clnic
Yeah the problem is kind a big.But all you need is the Hair Dryer yes you heard me.Then put it next to the ps2 and heat the backside and frontside. Why all this??The problem is in processor. He is malfunctioning due the konstant on and off. This is the worst problem on ps2.I had the same, and service told me it's best to buy new one than to fix old one.
It works with Hair Dryer.LOL

Could possibly be that it is not connected up correctly, or your playstation has died. If you have access to another playstation, hook it up to your cables as they are hooked up. If the screen works. Your playstation has died.
If not, and you have the same issues, try their cables, and if that doesn't work. You have it plugged in incorrectly.
check the fuse in the plug.
disconnect the mains cable from the console, then re-connect it.
make sure the power on off switch, at the back of the console is in the on position.

try using the composite cables as well.....with your tv set to the composite input go back into the settings and select the HDMI output switch your tv's input back to your HDMI input and remove the composite cables....it should work fine...
Sorry about no one paying attention to your problem for so long.
I just got started about a month ago. I have been repairing video Game consoles for over a decade though.
Your problem is that your slim has a melted down laser and lens assembly. The unit is dirty. You will need a new disc drive and a thorough cleaning to get it back in service.
The problem about the power light is due to excessive dust buildup shorting out the components on the motherboard. The video output is also comprimised by dust and dirt.
The disc spinning is possibly comprimised by hair wrapped around the disc drive spindle.
If you want, I can thoroughly detail clean your PS2 slim and replace the disc drive for $38 plus shipping both ways.
