Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution. 1) Back up all files on the GoGear 2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips) 3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button 4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new Now you can do the firmware upgrade that will prevent this problem from occuring in the future. Open up Philips Device Manager and click the Update tab. This problem was caused because most GoGear's were designed for Windows XP with Media Player 10 (which is no longer the latest standard). -Tha Mp3 Doctor

Try loosening the tension and pulling a longer string of thread. Also, if the needle is not at the highest point, when you start sewing, the thread will pull out.
Are you sure your BIOS is not showing the old hard-drive you had before you installed the new one?
On the new hard-drive you bought, do the following step
there should be a jumper that came with it, put the jumper to "master", if that didn't work, put it to "slave", if that didn't show up, put it to "cable select" and try it. If all failed, totally remove the jumper and try. Also check in the BIOS to make sure that the Drive is not disabled. This seems to be a problem from the jumper.
We had some success suspending powerhead (if removed from lower) and first rattling the shaft with an air chisel (using blunt head) - worked best on dry rust. If that didn't work it was soaked for a few days in rust buster. and tried again. If that didn't work, we put a bearing splitter on the groove above the pinion splines and a perfectly cut threaded pipe with a threaded union on one end over the drive shaft in such a manner the pipe would apply pressure to the crank shaft when the union was unscrewed.
Now if that didn't work, you can cut the drive shaft off the engine at the crand shaft and drill a hole thru the stuck part. Then tap a thread into the hole and thread a bolt into the stuck part till it bottomed out in the crank shaft and continue to thread it in and it would walk the piece out -saving the crankshaft.
Have you reset the tensions for this machine, look in your manual and follow directions. If this is an Elegante there is also a set of instructions on the machine. On the LCD screen there is a picture of a sewing machine with a question mark, touch it, find Troubleshooting and touch that then find the problem you are having and read. If this does not help take it to a Brother dealer and have it reset so as to keep you machine in good running order.
I've had the same problem every year since I bought this house 10 years ago with my Hayward filter drain and finally MacGyvered a great solution. Went to Home Depot and bought a 1" PVC shutoff valve. The Hayward drain has an outside 1 1/4" thread. The part I got was an 'Aqua-Dynamic' 1" PVC Schedule 40(I can't find a picture of it on the internet). It is a white PVC valve with an inside thread that mates with the Hayward and a red shutoff winged knob. You need to hacksaw the red wings off the knob in order to be able to screw it onto the drain because the filter's base gets in the way. Leave the valve in the open position(especially if water is still draining with filter off) and put PVC cement on the outside of the drain thhreads and a bit on the inside of the valve and screw it on. When the glue dries(5 minutes), you now have a drain that you can open and close every year with ease(you need a pair of pliers because the wings are off the turn knob but it works great!)
I received a cd with my machine showing step by step how to thread it. I put the machine beside my computer and threaded it step by step by watching the cd. One problem I had after threading it was not being able to sew a chain without the thread matting up and making a real "mess". The problem was I did not push the thread up against the machine until it clicked. That sets the tension. Try that and if you still have a problem email me and I will try to help. [email protected]
THANKS!!!!!!!
