It will handle the voltage. as far as the wiring goes, you'll have to decide which port to use. the wire coloring is different. you'll have to send your nmea out data from port 3 white and shield ( Like you said) to the pilot and receive your heading data from the pilot on port 2.

Connection to PC for Nav software

Assuming you have GPS input to your 1732 (i.e. GP310/320 sensor), you'll need a 7 pin NMEA data cable (000-154-028) wired to a D-sub 9 pin (serial) plug. The shield goes to pin 5, blue to #3, & white to #2. Jumper pins 7 & 8 together. The 7 pin cable goes to Data port 3 of the 1732.

How connect the nav net vx2 to autopilot simrad.what output port and colour cable

Get someone from a marine electronics company to do this for you. If you are unsure of the basics of what you need and you attempt to do this while going in blind, you may ruin your nmea ports on your navnet and autopilot. While I understand that you are trying to save $$$ by doing this, there's more to it than just wiring. There are port setups and nmea sentences to enable etc.

My radar displays all contacts reverse. How do I get the display reversed? model #1731

I agree with Nico-Fixus, the heading alignment is one of the things to be checked. Unless this is a new installation it is unlikely that the Radome (antenna) got removed and reinstalled facing the wrong way. So antenna orientation would not be a concern.

I have seen units that for some reason the wrong Radome was selected in the configuration of the Navnet display.

Read the model number on the Antenna, then check that correct antenna type in loaded in your display.

My furuno navnet vx2 periodically freezes during operation and must be restarted. Any suggestions?

Reinstall the operating software. The unit should probably go to Furuno.
Try operating it with only a GPS connected (no radar, no network). If this resolves it, it is almost certainly software. It could be low voltage or failing mother board.

Raymarine st8002 wired to furuno

The st8002 is not compatble with rs232 data. You need to supply it with nmea 0183 data. You will need to wire it to the "NMEA port IN" on the pilot to NMEA out on your Furuno and turn on the mnea sentances "out" on your Furuno. You will need to turn on at least the following sentances GGA GLL RMB RMC.Hope that helps.

I would like to purchase a full Furano Navnet 3D system with for my 42' sailboat now in production. It does not have hydraulic steering though. Is there a hydraulic linear drive compatible withe Furuno...

No, you will use the appropriate Simrad Drive unit such as an HLD350. It comes in long and short throw and split versions, and dual ram versions. Better to discuss on the phone probably. 847-746-0100 or email [email protected]

Navnet 500

I have been doing some research and I haven’t been able to determine if the Garmin has a compatible output for your Furuno. I can not recommend any service center particularly since I have no idea where you are located, but any good marine shop should be able to help you.

The Furuno uses NMEA Inputs for the GPS, and like I said I haven’t been able to determine if that Garmin uses that as an output. I would suggest that you inspect your installation to determine if there are any cableing between the two units. If no wires connect the two that you can be sure that the units are not communicating.

As far as the chartplotter goes you can buy data cards for them, either on-line or from a good marine supply store.
