Re: hp pavillion microphone no working
If it's a built in, you need to right click on the speaker icon on the right of your taskbar, click open volume control and then a window will pop up with volume sliders, check that the mic is listed there if not click options, advanced controls and make sure it is not muted and the slider is all the way up.
If you click advanced under the mic slider the option to tick mic boost appears.

Assuming you are using Windows 7
<Start>, <Cotrol Panel>, <Ease of Access>, <Speech Recognition>, <Set up Microphone> Follow prompts and instructions. Once your Microphone is set up, your Skype will work.
Damn Rocketfish ******* sucks. Got their external USB drive.. it died after the 3rd time i plugged it in to use. Their USB desktop mic, can't find any drivers for windows 7. Can't find **** on their website. If no special drivers, thats fine, but say so. Trying to use it on Lenovo T500 and T61.
Right-click on my computer, choose properties, hardware, device manager and see if the webcam is displayed anywhere.
If not, you need to go to HP.com and get the webcam software/drivers.
If it is, try downloading skype and seeing if it can power up your webcam. You may be able to do the same with MSN, but the msn webcam software is slow and ****.
