With the phone in standby mode, press the menu/clock key three times. You hear "Ring time" and the current ring time, and it is displayed on the main base. Then you hear the guidance for setting the ring time.
Press the volume/select-up-down until the desired setting appears.
Press the set key.

i would check your profiles. usually the default setting for the load profile is for it to vibrate twice and then ring, so that usually only gave you two rings to answer the phone after it vibrated twice. make sure that within your profile setting that you have it to ring with a tone, and make sure you have a volume selected. i would also use blackberry desktop manager and perform a back up or sync of your blackberry, and then perform a wipe handheld. the wipe hand held feature is in your options---security---general settings---and then press your options button (right of the trackball) and select wipe hand held. you will type the word blackberry and then it will wipe the handset. after it resets try the volume before you restore it, if you still don't have volume your speaker is bad.
