Question about Canon DC210 DVD Camcorder

2 Answers

Can't Initialize/Finalize I put in my DVD-R and can't initialize or finalize - the initialize is black and 'finalize' doesn't even show up at all. I only successfully did this with my first disc. The others refuse to work. I've plugged the camcorder into the adapter and everything, but it's not working. Help, please?

1 cannot initialize 2 cannot finalize

- a recorded disc needs some extra free space to finalize it. so if you have maxed out all the recording space in the disc, its not going to give you the option to finalize it or its going to be greyed out.

-please post here if you have additional questions

Do you have to initialize your camcorder before you start?

You do have to initialize the DVD-R before recording into it and you have to finalize it when it is full (or whenever you wish to) in order to view it on DVD players.

Initialize the discs then record...but then it still wont play on the computer/dvd player Canon camcorder dc210

I have a Samsung recorder, and it requires you to "finalize" the disc before it will play on another unit. Check your manual for specifics, or look in your menu for the "finalize disk" option. Hope this helps...

No finalize option available. Only allows me to

Make sure you are on the mode to view the recorded videos, then make sure the camera is plugged into the power supply and the finalize option should become available

Try going back to the menu and go to dvd disc record portion of it. It may have options to initialize and finalize disc.

Can not finalize

Hi, Initially I had the same problem with the finalization process. But then i took off the battery pack and connected to the mains and immediately when i switched on the camcorder again, the ' Finalize ' button was highlighted i.e enabled. I continued with the finalization process and everything was fine. Was able to playback the mini dvd on a very cheap dvd player and also on a computer.

Also be sure to put the camcorder on play mode by sliding down the switch button to mode. You immediately notice that a little green button near play will light up

Won't finalize or view on computer

You have to plug in the AC adapter to finalize a disc. It won't "finalize" on the battery alone.
