Question about SMC Barricade g SMC2804WBRP-G Wireless Router
Router is probably configured incorrectly. Try this... Turn off cable modem and router for 1 min. Turn on cable modem...when done booting..turn on router...check for internet. If no...log into router and make sure it is NOT in PPOE but rather in dynamic mode. Good lUck

Do you know how to check the IP address of your computer?
Maybe you need to reconfigure the router.

The simplist solution is to try a full reset. There should be a recessed reset button on either the front or rear of the unit. While the power is on, press the reset button for about 10 seconds, and then release. The unit should re-set.
Then you will have to access the router via your browser to re-setup the parameters.
For details about re-setting the unit, and doing the setup refer to the user manual.
If the reset process does not work, there is a strong possiblity that the router is defective. It will be cheaper to buy a new router than sending it in for service if it is out of warranty.

If you can access the configuration page of your belkin router you have to copy the MAC address of your computer to the router. The router has the capability to clone the MAC address. It's because if you have a cable internet connection the MAC address is registered in the server.
