Disappearing photos I went on holiday to Belgium recently and halfway through the trip I went to look through the photos I'd taken to find that they had all vanished! Earlier in the day I had been flicking through the settings and I pressed the create folder option but I exited before making a new one (I think) but appart from that I can't think of anything that would have happened to it to make it delete all my photos. Please help!

It is unlikely your images are lost but I would advise not to use the card until you recover them. If you purchase a quality brand flash card reader (eg. Lexar or Sandisk) you often receive an image recovery program with it. You basically plug the reader into your computers USB port, insert the card and run the program to get them all back safely. After that, I would recommend putting the card into the camera and formatting it using the "Format" option from the menu. People often buy new cards and forget to format them in the device they intend to use it in, it is an important step to remember to ensure your information is being safely stored.

Hello

Download THIS file.

Download this free tool and run it on you card and it should be able to recover all pictures provided that you have not used the card since formatting. I recommend using a card reader for this.

After downloading and running (no installation required) , simply select deep scan and your memory card and it will start scanning, To recover a found file , right click it and select save.

Please note that the file names will not be available and also that some of the properties of the photo like date taken could be lost.

Please let me if you have recovered your pictures safely or contact me if you need further assistance.

SLR's don't have hard drives. Buy an inexpensive card reader to download your pictures to a folder you create on your desktop. See if that works.
