LG 37LG30 HDMI no sound problem

My LG 37LG30 does not play any sound in HDMI mode. I can play movies from my laptop Dell 1526 on my Samsung 52" via HDMI with sound, but when I go to my smaller 37" LG it doesn't play any sound through the TV only the laptop speakers. There is no other setting on the TV to allow for sound throught the HDMI ports. I do not want to run more cables, what are my options to get sound to play on my LG. I believe the sound is transmitting via HDMI, but does not come through to the TV. What am I missing here?

This is more probably a software fault within the TV. They need instructions for HDMI inputs & a no sound is a related fault. I would get in touch with your dealer to arrange the TV to be updated to cure this problem. Hope this helps.

Sounds like the problem could be in the power supply of the TV. Have a technican check for defective capacitors if you're not equipped to do the job yourself.

Picture ok but no sound from tv when I connect laptop to tv via HDMI. Any help?

Simple fix : Click start and type sound and goto "change sound card settings"-> goto HDMI sound (tv icon) and right click it -> select "Set as default" It will work. Just restart the application from which you are trying to play the audio. It will work 1000%

Dell laptop connected to yamaha reciever via hdmi no picture or sound?

This has to do with your video driver on your laptop that needs updating.
go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Update
download any updates from here.shutdown laptop, check the cable connection from laptop to tv then restart.
If still no luck try another hdmi cable

When I plug my lap top into my tv via hdmi cable I get a picture but I do not get any sound. I have a year old LG 52" LCD tv

My MacBook laptop and probably others do not output sound on its mini-DVI connector and thus not into the HDMI adaptor. I would have to use the wired sound output or the optical output--same hole--into the sound system. If you have a DVI-HDMI adaptor, then that is the problem, there is no sound wiring on the DVI side. Same for VGA, which does not have digital video only analog.

I connected my DELL MINI Inspirion 10 via HDMI to LCD TV. have a good pic, but haven any sound (can play movie, but nothing voice). Check everything, no find problem. Can u help me?

HDMI is only used for Video output and not for sound, you will have to use your laptop audio out (has a pic of headphones), you are able to get headphone jack to phono (white / Red) cable to connect to TV or surround sound system or your laptop speakers.
