Called Person Can't Hear Me

My new Uniden EXI5560 cordless phone microphone does not work. There is no "Mute" keypad and there is nothing in the manual or online that mentions this problem and its resolution. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

Try holding down the * (star button) bottom left of numeric keypad.
Wait unit you hear the beep.
Repeat same to lock.

the keypad of your phone is corrosion,you need to clean keypad by using the lighter fluid.

Took them Back to the shop - Uniden said there was a bad batch made....
If you have any other/better suggestions let me know.

Mute Microphone
With the handset
You can temporarily turn Off the microphone so that the person you are talking with cannot hear you.
1)Press menu/del during talk mode (while phone is in use).
2)Press ring/vol/? or ring/vol/? to move the pointer to Mute and then select/
.
Mute On and appear in the display. To cancel muting, repeat above step again when Mute
is set to on, Mute Off appears.
With the base
While using the base speakerphone, press mute on the base to turn Off the microphone.
Press mute again or press (speaker) to cancel muting.

How do I mute the handset of my uniden powermax 5.8 ghz? Thanks
To mute the ringer, while in standby mode press the volume-down button to select Off.
To mute the microphone, while talking press the MUTE softkey.
To put the phone into do-not-disturb mode, press and hold the do not disturb button on the base.

When calling,i can hear the person i called but they cant hear me
Hi..

Looks like problem is on your side. This is may due to a faulty microphone on your phone or Mic is set to be on mute.

1. Please check that nothing is clotted on Microphone. This is a small hole on bottom side of your phone.
2. Please check that other party can hear you when you're using a Hands-free / Bluetooth ear phones with mic on it. If they can hear you, when you use a hands-free, problem is with your phone's on-board microphone.
3. You can also check that, while on a call, your mic is not set on Mute. This can be done as on call, select Options , look for Mute / Unmute. If Unmute is present, select it unmute the mic.
4. You can use Mute button Provided on the top side of the phone. While on the call, press this button to Mute / Unmute the mic. If the mic is set to Mute mode, other party won't hear any sound from you.

Hi, I can't be heard by the person on the other end and I can't see a mute button anywhere. I can't find the manual either. Can you help?
If it happens during all calls, then it's not a mute button.

Chances are the microphone portion when bad, got wet etc.

Take it back or get it serviced :)

Callers can't hear me because the transmitter isn't working

I looked at the manual, and there doesn't seem to be a way to un-mute the mic. On other models, the Menu button is also the Mute button.. The only thing I saw that might be the cause is the following:

If this only happens on one of the handsets, did you register that handset? It must sit in the base cradle for 20 seconds before it's registered:

NOTE: In case of a power failure lasting more than 5 minutes, you must put both handsets on the main base cradle for 20 seconds to re-register.

have to squeeze cordless handset to get mic to work I can hear the other party just fine. But, in order to hear me, I have to squeeze the sides of the handset for the mic to work. Don't really understand, since the mic is @ the bottom of the phone and I'm squeezing near the top. Has anyone else experienced this? I now have the same problem with my Uniden EXAI7980 model.
