Change input device to some other like a DVD player and see.
Switch off TV, switch off power, remove plug and wait for 48 hours and retry.
If problem persists, call in a qualified service technician.

Watching Sky HD, sound ok in 5.1, then adverts

This is a problem with the digital lock.

What this means is that your receiver is suppose to sense the type of digital audio feed, during programming it receiver the 5.1 and decodes it, then the feed switches to a 2 channel signal and the receiver's DSP hangs up. I bet if you change inputs then change back it re-locks and works fine until the signal changes again.

This happened on some of the Harman receivers, I can't recall if the 130 had an RS-232 port on the back. If so you can go on www.harmankardon.com and download a firmware update that may help with this problem.

FIRST

Cover the basics, unplug and replug the receiver.

Second write down all your settings, perform a processor reset as outline in the back of your manual and reprogram the receiver.

I warn you if the update fails your receiver will not be worth repairing!!

Cheers,

Kevin

I have a phonic powerpod 7. the speaker connections are A & B main 1 & the same main 2 in the middle there is 1 1/4 jack socket that says bridge. it says dont connect any speakers to a or b when...

In bridge mode, the left and right amplifiers are in essence connected together. Typically, the speaker connections are to the positive connectors for each channel for this mode. WIth the speakers still connected, you essentially shorted the outputs to ground and smoked the output section. The unit will detect this now and not turn on the output section. Your unit is in what is usually called "protect" mode. This unit will require repair. Expect to have the output transistors replaced at the very least. I would estimate around $16-$40 for parts.

How do you change the output setting from hdmi to the rca cable setings? I have no picture screen on my crt tv.

you have to reset the ps3 because you have it with hdmi before and the ps3 is looking for an hdmi connection is very easy and there is nothing wrong with your ps3 ok so do the follow
turn the power switch off on the back of the unit then put your finger in the on/off switch now turn the main switch on the back of the unit you will heard a first bip sound this is when your ps3 turns on ok keep your finger there in the on/off switch until you heard another bip sound now remove your finger from the on/off switch and bingo this will reset your video settings now you can see picture again using regular av and every time you use hdmi you have to do this again

Start up problem.

I suggest you look at the Horizontal output transistor, when it goes short the supply is in protection mode, it is pointless reading voltages at this stage, check the transistor located close to the Horizontal output (Flyback) transformer and normally mounted on a large heatsink. Check the caps in the primary power supply stage....hope that helps..Phil

Hi.

If the picture & sound are ok in analogue mode then chances are you have problem with digital tuner.
This may be expensive to repair so I would advise connect external freeview box or sky etc to get digi channels using scart to connect to your TV.

Sounds like a tuner or Video output problem. What make and model set do you have.
