Try reinstalling the driver and PrintCD utility. The utility was never designed to be run on anything much after 9 and Epson no longer use the PrintCD software. You may have to find an alternative product to PrintCD.

PROBLEM WITH HP PHOTOSMART C 4480 RECENTLY UPGRADED MY MAC TO 10.5.8. NOW I CANNOT PRINT. THE MESSAGE "PRINTER IS OFF-LINE" COMES UP WHEN I TRY TO PRINT. HELP!! ERVIN...

Hi There,

  1. Although Macs come with embedded drivers for certain printers, HP is notorious for being buggy on some printers when their "Full Feature" software is not downloaded and installed.
  2. Please try that from the below link. Bes ure NOT to download for 10.6 but use the download further down the driver list for your OSX
Best Regards,

Marcus

Mac upgrade means Xerox printer won't print!

There are apparently incompatibilities between some Xerox drivers and the security-improved Snow Leopard. It seems that many pieces of software (and drivers) relied on not-so-clean techniques to cut corners while operating. These techniques are no longer allowed by Snow Leopard (the same problem afflicts XP SP3, Vista and Seven).

This article lists several problems, explanation and (perhaps) fixes:

Meanwhile, Apple is working to some workarounds too (there is an update linked in the article which may be of interest to you).

As per someone elses post here:
# Select Print from the File menu.

If you see the message The Epson Printer Driver dealing with CD printing is not installed, click OK.

# Click Tray, select Tray 2, then click OK.

Note: If Tray 2 is not selected, the CD design will print in the wrong position.

# Click Manual Print.

# Make sure Epson Stylus Photo R(your model) is selected.

# Under Paper, select the following settings:

* Source: Manual

* Size: A4

# Click Properties.

# Select CD/DVD or CD/DVD Premium Surface for the Media Type setting.

# Click OK, then click OK again to print.

First, install "epson easyprint" from the epson website. Its found under drivers and support for your unit.

Then click ok on that error message about "driver dealing with..."
After you click ok on the message, you will get another window where you will find a "manual print" button. Click on this manual print button and this will take you to the next window where you have to select "A4 as the paper size" and "CD/DVD as the paper type and paper path" . After this, click print... it should start to print! This is just a workaround until epson gets a patch for leopard for print cd........hopefully
