Hi,
The washer stop in the middle of cycles after a while (usually in the second wash). Even if the cycle is changed it doesn't do anything. After couple of days and after the machine is disconnected you can use it again and it works fine but only for one set of clothes.
Careful part is that when it stop a small burned smell comes out it.
The model is Maytag MAV7000AWW.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot,
Al

Sounds like a motor problem. the motor might have reached then end of its life and is overheating causing the thermal overload protector to shut down the motor.

Please power cycle your machine and then rotate the cycle dial by 90 degrees counter clockwise (opposite of usual direction of rotation), then attempt to run a wash cycle again. Otherwise, I would run a rinse cycle and poor some toothpaste in the washer in order to unclog any potential blocks before attempting the wash again.
check the following
power cord plugged into a grounded 3 prong outlet
the inicator on the cycle conrol knob proprely lined up with a cycle? turn the knob to the right slightly then pull the knob
while the unit is filling in the warm cycle. reach behind and shut off the hot water tap.I bet the water flow stops filling, if so, you would need to change the inlet valve on the machine. You see, in warm, if the cold is not filling, you still hear the hot filling and the unit will advance. The rinse cycles are mostly "cold" only. if the valve is not opening it will not allow it to advance from the rinse section on the board.
