Nobody can predict, what might have been happened to your TV after a lightning strike. Do you thing anybody can? Is any technician have a super-natural power to predict the faults that might have been happened due to lightning (More than 10 Million volts to start on stroke) ? Can you?
Sorry.
Contact the authorized service center. OK? http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
critical board failure, if there was a spark from the tv then the transformer has blown, if there was no electrical problems they should replace the board and have it investigated. in some areas of the work lightning strikes are covered in the warranty as safety devices are on all electronic to cut out the voltage, its an in built trip. when the voltage goes back down it resets and lets voltage though again. all electronics have these in them these days that has high voltage use.
The first parst affected by the lightning strike are the reservoir capacitor, a big cylindrical component in the high voltage section of the tv, which normally blows up, opening the top cap, and the NTC. Please, check these components and replace the damaged ones.
Damage due to lightning would not be limited to power board only, in my opinion, other circuit board would have also been damaged so new home theater system would be good choice rather repairing this one. Thanks.
Seems the is an internal problem due to overvoltage. This could be caused due lightning.
If you are lucky only an internal fuse is blown.
Else the power supply is gone ...
In the worst case also other electronic parts are damaged.
yes this is most likely do to the lightning i have been to a couple houses hit by lightning that all of the appliances were shorted due to lightning try first unplugging the power cord then replug to see if you can get it to trip back to the normal fuction mode most of the time this does not work most likely your main control board has shorted out due to the lightning most of the time this is covered under you homeowners insurance if you rent then you can speak with the landlord. your other option would be to open the unit and find every shorted spot which might get a bit costly hope this helps
Unplug it and then blow a hairdryer at the power supply for 3 minutes. Leave the lid on, just blow the hairdryer at it from the outside. Craziest trick I ever saw.
After that, turn off hibernation. And eventually, replace your power supply.
yes of course it can, you just need to wein a lottery!
It is difficult to say how mucg damage the lightning did. If its just the power supplym anywhere from $200-500 if the spike went further than the intenal fuses and power supply ( fuses after the supply) you may need to mortgage the house. However most times this can be claimed as fusion on your insurance policy. Check whether lightning damage is covered. If not don't mention it just plead ignorance and say it just stopped working after it was turned off.
Remove the Lamp and look for a white fog inside. It is bad if it looks that way.
If thats not it, Call a good TV Tech to troubleshoot the problem. Lightning can do about anything to electronics.
