Question about Canon PIXMA MP780 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Probably means the print head is jammed and can't slide freely on the track. Try unplugging the printer and *gently* sliding the head/cartidge toward the center. Then inspect the cartridge path to see if you can find an obstruction. It may help to remove the case (it should snap off) unless that makes you nervous. Lots of good suggestions at

6A00 indicates there is a problem with the purge motor - the most likely cause is that paper may be jammed in the purge unit on the RHS. Open the main cover so the carriage moves to the centre and power off the machine. Get a torch to see inside and remove any jammed paper.
