Acer aspire 4520

This problem only occur when i play DOTA online or lan, not in a single player mode and not in any other game. Blue scree with white writing appear before the computer restart. As it is too fast i cant read everything but it mention something about dump physical memory. My friend who used to have this says that it might be due to my graphic card driver. Please help me out on this.

Thanks for that one, so do you know the solution to this one? Its not a ventilation prob. The main problem is that acer only created a Vista driver for the laptop and im using XP version of window with a driver downloaded from the web.

Problem is, i've tried every driver i managed to find but the problem still occur.

Hello guys!! i dont think driver was the solution.. im also using the spire 4520.. actually the blue screen appear not becoz of the graphiz card.. it is beacause your realtek audio driver.. i download new driver from acer website and reinstall it.. and guess what?? it works like charm!!! now.. when i play dota.. no more blue screen.. try it.. and while playing dota and PES.. the graphic seems to blurr sometimes.. i think we should update graphic card as well (for acer users only).. best of luck!!

Yes your friend may well be correct, if you have a crash while playing a game it's either a overheating problem, so check the ventillation or it's a graphics driver fault, check incase windows has installed a generic driver in the last windows update, as it may not be right for your system and require the correct driver updating and installing. The memory dump screen is normally called the BSOD, blue screen of death, normally associated with corrupt drivers.

you need to find out what make of graphics you have got i think it's nvidia and than try another models graphics driver as i have both vista and xp installed on my acer 5610 notebook, so there must be driver on the site somewhere, try this one and see if it works

It's really common for the Acer Aspire 5100 to "blue screen" with a message about problems with new hardware suggesting fixed disk because of a motherboard issue relating to overheating.
Even if you've solved a previous overheating issue by clearing the exit vent of fluff, the motherboard is still susceptible to hot spots that cause the blue screen.
Replacement of motherboard is only solution in my experience. If you replace the motherboard remember to keep the fan exit vent clear to prevent future overheating.

I want to know how to forword port. I use D-link DWA-125 Wireless Adapter. I want to create DOTA(being a host). How can I do it?

Hi,
If playing DOTA is the reason why you want to forward a port from your dlink router, I don't think that it is going to be necessary.
To be able to HOST a game in dota, you need to either be in a network or in a virtual private network.
LOCAL HOSTING - this means that you are hosting a game to PCs connected to your LAN under the same router. All you need to do is go to Local Area Connection in Warcraft TFT then create the game you want to host. If your friends is not able to see your game, make sure that your windows firewall has Warcraft TFT in its exceptions. Or you can turn off windows firewall as a workaround each time you play DOTA.
VPN HOSTING - this means you must have a specific software to use to host your DOTA game so friends can connect to you even if they are not under the same LAN or router. Best example of a software to use is GARENA. Garena is a vpn software that allows you to connect to players around the globe. You need to register a username and password to use garena. Download and install Garena to your computer. Login using your username and password to use garena. Once logged in, choose the room you want to host your game for. Choose the one under your current location (e.g. Choose Singapore if you are in Singapore). When you connect to the room, click Start Game to start your warcraft. You can HOST dota games by going to Local Area network in Warcraft TFT and create your game with a valid dota map. Same in LAN, you need to put Garena on the exception list of your firewall for people to see your hosted game.

Hope this helps.

I need Aspire 4520 wifi software, it was not working when i used

Ok.. This is the downloads site for ACER support site.
ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_4520/vista/Drivers
However there are two wireless LAN drivers in that directory. You should find out which one is yours. To do this click start->right-cllcik on computer. When the system window opens click on device manager located under tasks on the left hand side. When the device manager opens double-click on network adapters and one of the two devices(Atheros wireless LAN or Broadcom wireless LAN) will be listed. Download the respective driver and your wireless would be up and runnin'
